Abbas Ali Khan (cricketer)
Abbas Ali Khan was a member of the 3rd National Assembly of Pakistan and education minister of East Pakistan. Biography Abbas Ali Khan was born in 1914 in Joypurhat Thana, Bogra District, Bengal Presidency, British India. In 1925, he passed high matriculation examination from Hooghly Madrasah. Ten years after examination, he acquired B.A degree from Carmichael College. Then he became a civil servant and worked for Indian government from 1936 to 1947. He also became secretary of A.K. Fazlul Huq, first prime minister of Bengal. In 1955, eight years after the independence of Pakistan, he became a member of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and later he became ameer of its branch of Rajshahi Division. In 1962, Khan became member of the 3rd National Assembly of Pakistan representing Dinajpur-Bogra. Ameer Of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is the largest Islamist political party in Bangladesh. The origin of the party can be traced back to the original faction founded by Sayyid Abul A'la Maududi in 1941. The predecessor of Jamaat which is known as Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, allegedly opposed the independence of Bangladesh and the dismemberment of Pakistan. Following the independence of Bangladesh, the party was banned along with all other religion-based parties in 1972 by the regime. The ban was lifted in 1976 by the Sayem administration and its leaders were allowed to participate in political activities after 1979, and the current Bangladeshi faction of Jamaat-e-Islami was formed after the ban on religion-based parties was lifted by Ziaur Rahman. Joypurhat District
Joypurhat District () is a List of districts of Bangladesh, district in northern Bangladesh, and part of Rajshahi Division. Etymology Prior to the coming of the Chilahati–Parbatipur–Santahar–Darshana line, Calcutta–Jalpaiguri railway line in 1884, the area was known as Jaipur. There was already a Jaipur railway station elsewhere in India, so when the local station was built it was named Jaipur Hat station (there was a ''hat'', or market, nearby) to distinguish it from the other Jaipur. When the area was carved out of Bogra District in 1984, it took the name Joypurhat District. ''Daily Janakantha'' (; ''Dainik Janakanṭha'' "Daily People's Voice") is a Bengali daily newspaper published from Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is owned by Janakantha Shilpa Paribar (GJSP). History This newspaper was first published on 21 February 1993. Mohammad Atikullah Khan Masud was the editor of the newspaper till his death.
