Aayalolo
Aayololo is a Bus Rapid Transit System, was inaugurated on the 25th of November 2016, in Ghana which is operational in Accra the Capital. Bus Rapid Transit system are special because particular lines are dedicated for the buses which allows them to move faster through traffic, along their routes. Aayalolo system Started in 2016, it started work from Accra to Amasaman and Accra to Ofankor. It was initially planned as a Bus Transit System with dedicated lanes, but because these lanes were not provided it was renamed Quality Bus System (QBS). Bus rapid transit (BRT), also called a busway or transitway, is a bus-based public transport system designed to have much more capacity, reliability and other quality features than a conventional bus system. Typically, a BRT system includes roadways that are dedicated to buses, and gives priority to buses at intersections where buses may interact with other traffic; alongside design features to reduce delays caused by passengers boarding or leaving buses, or paying fares. Quality Bus Corridor
Quality Bus Corridors (QBC, ga, Mórlána Bus) are an initiative to give dedicated road space and traffic signal priority to buses in Dublin, Ireland in order to reduce journey times and improve service consistency. The aim of the initiative is to encourage people to change from cars to buses and thus reduce traffic congestion. The strategy requires co-ordination between the local authorities, who are responsible for the road changes required, and Dublin Bus who operate the vast majority of bus services. This co-ordination is managed by the National Transport Authority. History and development The idea for the creation of QBCs first arose in 1993 when Dublin Bus launched its "CitySwift" service on route 39 to Clonsilla along the Navan Road. Bus Rapid Transit In Africa
In African cities, bus rapid transit is a relatively new phenomenon. The first system was opened in 2008 in Lagos, Nigeria and since then, many more BRT systems have been undertaken and are in different stages of development. 2016 saw a record three new BRTs on the continent.
