Aatu Räty
Aatu Räty () (born 14 November 2002) is a Finnish professional ice hockey centre for the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected 52nd overall in the 2021 NHL entry draft by the New York Islanders. Playing career Räty made his Liiga debut at age 16 and scored his first professional goal in the same game. Räty was considered a top prospect in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. The presumptive first overall pick before the start of the season, Räty fell in draft rankings after what scouts viewed as a difficult season playing for Oulun Kärpät, scoring just six points in 35 games. On 14 August 2021, the New York Islanders announced that they had signed Räty to a three-year, entry-level contract. 2022 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships
The 2022 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships (''2022 WJHC'') was the 46th edition of the Ice Hockey World Junior Championship, held from 9 to 20 August 2022 at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held from 26 December 2021 through 5 January 2022, in Edmonton and Red Deer — the host cities originally awarded the 2022 tournament before it was moved into a "bubble" behind closed doors competition in Edmonton due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During the tournament, multiple teams reported COVID-19 outbreaks. Consequently, the IIHF decided on 29 December 2021 to cancel the tournament. In February 2022, it was announced that the tournament would be replayed from scratch at a later date, while all results and statistics from December games would be annulled. Florida Panthers
The Florida Panthers are a professional ice hockey team based in the Miami metropolitan area. The Panthers compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference. A penalty in ice hockey is a punishment for an infringement of the rules. Most penalties are enforced by sending the offending player to a penalty box for a set number of minutes. During the penalty the player may not participate in play. Assist (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, an assist is attributed to up to two players of the scoring team who shot, passed or deflected the Puck (sports)#In ice hockey, puck towards the scoring teammate, or touched it in any other way which enabled the Goal (ice hockey), goal, meaning that they were "assisting" in the goal. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar. The Arizona Coyotes are an inactive professional ice hockey team based in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Aku Räty
Aku Räty () (born 5 July 2001) is a Finnish professional ice hockey right winger for Oulun Kärpät of the Finnish Liiga. The Arizona Coyotes selected Räty 151st overall in the 2019 NHL entry draft. On 17 April 2024, he was the last player ever to debut for the Coyotes. Playing career Räty developed in the Kärpät system alongside his brother, Aatu, with both being considered top prospects in the Finnish ranks in their respective NHL draft years. Aku remained on the board through the first four rounds of the 2019 NHL entry draft before the Arizona Coyotes selected him in the fifth round with the 151st overall pick.
