Aasta Falkberget
Aasta Falkberget (March 15, 1905 – March 3, 1983) was a Norwegian writer and painter. Family Aasta Falkberget was born in Røros, Norway, the daughter of the writer Johan Falkberget (1879–1967) and his wife Anna Marie Skjølsvold (1880–1960). She was the sister of the actor Magnus Falkberget. She was first married on October 14, 1926 in Røros Church to the pastor Aksel Sæsbøe (1893–1972) and she was called Aasta Vaarsnø Falkberget at the time of the marriage. That marriage was later dissolved. She married for the second time in 1940 to Sverre Alfred Fredriksen (1910–1990). Life and work Falkberget wrote small contributions for newspapers and magazines early in her career. Her literary debut is considered a story that was published in ''Arbeidermagasinet'' no. 4 in 1928. That same year, she contributed to the Norwegian Missionary Society's Christmas publication. Røros
Røros ( sma, Plaassja, ) is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Røros. Some of the villages in Røros include Brekken, Glåmos, Feragen, Galåa, and Hitterdalen. The mining town of Røros (the administrative centre of the municipality) is sometimes called ''Bergstaden'' which means "mountain town" due to its historical notoriety for copper mining. It is one of two towns in Norway that were historically designated "mining towns", along with the "silver-town" of Kongsberg. ''Den fjerde nattevakt'' (The Fourth Night Watch) is a novel by the Norwegian writer Johan Falkberget published in 1923. The work was the author's breakthrough novel, is considered one of his main works, and is part of several selections of Norway's literary canon. The plot is set in Røros in the years from 1807 onward. The main characters are the priest Benjamin Sigismund, his wife Katrine, the sexton Ol-Kanelesa (Ole Korneliussen), the miner's wife Gunhild Bonde, and her husband David Finne. Benjamin arrives at Bergstaden at the beginning of the novel and quickly establishes himself as a popular priest. The sexton, fiddler, and blacksmith Ol-Kanelesa becomes his mentor. The development of his character and Christian faith to become a priest for the workers and peasants is one of two main themes in the novel. ''Arbeidermagasinet'' was a Norwegian weekly literary magazine established in 1927. It changed its name to ''Magasinet For Alle'' in 1953, and ceased publication in 1970. The magazine is especially noted for its literary quality and its promotion of the short story. Editors ''Arbeidermagasinet's'' first editor from 1927 to 1931 was Otto Luihn. Aksel Zachariassen edited the magazine in 1931. In 1932 Nils Johan Rud took over as editor for the magazine. In 1953 the name of the magazine was changed to ''Magasinet For Alle'', and Rud edit the magazine until it ended its publication in 1970. In 1931 the magazine had a circulation of around 40,000. Røros Church or Bergstadens Ziir ( no, Røros kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Røros municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. Located in the town of Røros, it is the main church for the Røros parish which is part of the Gauldal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The octagonal, whitewashed stone church was built in 1784 using plans drawn up by the architect Peter Leonard Neumann from Trondheim.
