Aart Staartjes
Aart Staartjes (1 March 1938 – 12 January 2020) was a Dutch actor, director, television presenter and documentary maker from Amsterdam. He was well known for his role on ''Sesamstraat'', the Dutch co-production of ''Sesame Street''. On this show, his character's name was ''Meneer Aart'' (Mr. Aart) and in this persona he authored a book called (Mr. Aart: Life and work of the man who does not want to be named a friend to children). Staartjes used to present the annual arrival of ''Sinterklaas'' in the Netherlands. Early life Aart Staartjes was born in Nieuwendam, a neighbourhood of Amsterdam-Noord. He had an older brother, and a younger sister. They lived in a house on the Nieuwendammer''dijk''. The Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (; NOS ; English: Dutch Broadcasting Foundation) is one of the broadcasting organisations making up the Netherlands Public Broadcasting system. Minuet
A minuet (; also spelled menuet) is a social dance of French origin for two people, usually in time. The English word was adapted from the Italian ''minuetto'' and the French ''menuet''. Karel Eykman
Karel Eykman (1 March 1936 – 30 August 2022) was a Dutch writer of children's literature. Early life Eykman started studying theology in 1956. Career In 1969, Eykman published his first book ''De werksters van half vijf en andere gelijkenissen''. He won the Zilveren Griffel award in 1975 for his book ''De vreselijk verlegen vogelverschrikker''. In 1984, he won the Gouden Griffel award for his book ''Liefdesverdriet''. In the seventies of the twentieth century he was also a member of ''Het Schrijverscollectief'', a group of writers which included Eykman, Willem Wilmink, Hans Dorrestijn, Ries Moonen, Jan Riem and Fetze Pijlman. Together they contributed to television shows such as '' De Stratemakeropzeeshow'' and '' De film van Ome Willem''. Willem Wilmink
Willem Wilmink (; Enschede, 25 October 1936 – 2 August 2003) was a Dutch poet and writer. He was best known for the large number of songs he wrote for popular children programs and his accessible, straightforward poetry. Life and career Wilmink was born in Enschede and studied Dutch and history at the University of Amsterdam. From 1960 to 1978, he taught modern literature at the same university. He wrote many songs for musicals and wrote a number of novels for young adults. At first he mainly wrote for adults, but later mainly for children. His first publication was in 1966: ''Brief van een Verkademeisje'' (Eng: "letter from a Verkade girl"). Joseph Jules Thomas Prinsen (born 9 June 1942) is a Dutch actor, television presenter, singer and writer. He performed in the popular Dutch television programmes '' De stratemakeropzeeshow'', ''Het Klokhuis'', and ''De Zevensprong'', and he also presented the quiz show ''Met het mes op tafel''. Louisa Johanna Theodora van Dort (born May 16, 1943 in Surabaya, Dutch East Indies) is a Dutch actress, comedian, singer, writer and artist of Indo (Eurasian) descent. On April 29, 1999, Queen Beatrix appointed her ''Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau''. She has appeared on many children's television programs and is best known for her Indo (Dutch-Indonesian) character of Tante Lien in ''The Late Late Lien Show'' on Dutch prime time television. ''De Stratemakeropzeeshow'' (English: ''The road worker at sea show'') was a Dutch children's television programme that ran from 1972 to 1974 and was aired by the VARA broadcasting organization. ''De Stratemakeropzeeshow'' is regarded as one of the finest Dutch children's television shows for its absurdist and taboo-breaking sketches.
