Aaron Gunn
Aaron Gunn (born 1989 or 1990) is a Canadian politician and filmmaker. A member of the Conservative Party, he has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for North Island—Powell River since the 2025 federal election. Gunn’s campaign drew national attention due to controversy over his remarks on residential schools and Indigenous reconciliation, which were condemned by the British Columbia's First Nations Leadership Council and other indigenous groups. In 2022, he had previously sought the leadership of the British Columbia (BC) Liberal Party, but was disqualified. Early life and filmmaking Gunn grew up in Greater Victoria, and became interested in filmmaking as a teenager. North Island—Powell River
North Island—Powell River is a federal electoral district in British Columbia, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1988 to 1997, and again since 2015. This riding was created in 1987 from parts of Comox—Powell River riding and contested for the first time at the 34th federal election on 21 November 1988. It was abolished in 1996 when it was merged into Vancouver Island North riding, and it ceased to be represented in the House of Commons effective at the call of the 36th federal election on 2 June 1997. The 5th (British Columbia) Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery is a Canadian Army Reserve artillery regiment based at the Bay Street Armoury in Victoria, British Columbia. Genocide
Genocide is violence that targets individuals because of their membership of a group and aims at the destruction of a people.
