Aaron Conneely
Aaron Conneely (born 23 January 1992) is a rugby union player from Ireland. He primarily plays as a flanker. He most recently played professionally for Irish provincial team Connacht Rugby in the Pro12. Conneely, who plays his club rugby for the Galway city team Corinthians, came through the Connacht academy and was part of the Connacht Under-20 side that took the Grand Slam in the Interprovincial Championship during the 2011–12 season. He joined the senior side ahead of the 2013–14 season, signing a development contract. He had already featured for the province's second-tier side, the Connacht Eagles, in the semi-professional British and Irish Cup. In April 2014, it was announced that Conneely's contract had not been renewed and he would leave the province at the end of the 2013–14 season. Galway
Galway ( ; , ) is a City status in Ireland, city in (and the county town of) County Galway. It lies on the River Corrib between Lough Corrib and Galway Bay. Connacht Rugby is one of the four professional provincial men's rugby teams from the island of Ireland. Connacht competes in the United Rugby Championship and the European Rugby Champions Cup. The team represents the IRFU Connacht Branch, which is one of four primary branches of the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU), and is responsible for rugby union throughout the geographical Irish province of Connacht. The 2012 IRB Junior World Championship was the fifth IRB Junior World Championship, an annual international rugby union competition for Under-20 national teams. This competition replaced the now defunct Under 19 and Under 21 world championships. The event was held in South Africa between 4 and 22 June 2012 and organised by world rugby's governing body, the International Rugby Board (IRB). A total of 12 nations played in the tournament. New Zealand came into the tournament as defending champions. South Africa were crowned 2012 champions after defeating New Zealand 22–16 in the final on 22 June at Newlands Stadium. IRB Junior World Championship
The World Rugby Under 20 Championship (known as the IRB Junior World Championship until 2014) is an annual international rugby union competition. The event is organised by the sport's governing body, World Rugby, and is contested by 12 men's junior national teams with an under-20 age requirement. This event replaced the IRB's former age-grade world championships, the Under 19 and Under 21 World Championships. The British and Irish Cup was an annual rugby union competition for second tier, semi-professional clubs and the reserves or developing teams from professional clubs from Great Britain and Ireland. It took place for the first time in the 2009–10 British and Irish Cup, 2009–10 season, and ran for 9 seasons. After clubs from the English Championship decided to withdraw from the 2018–19 season, the competition was abolished. The Welsh and Irish rugby unions thereafter reinstituted the Celtic Cup (2018 rugby union tournament), Celtic Cup competition for its development sides.
