Aarhus United Handball
Aarhus United was a Danish women's handball club based in Aarhus. They played in Damehåndboldligaen, Denmark's premier women's handball league. Aarhus United was founded in 2017 and took over SK Aarhus's league license for the 2017-18 season. In June 2024, it was announced that the club and another Aarhus based handball team Aarhus HC had decided to merge under the new club name Aarhus Håndbold. Aarhus United was founded as a reaction to the closing of the former Aarhus club SK Århus closing. The previous club had to close as the head sponsor withdrew, and the economy was not good enough to maintain the club. In their first season the club signed all former SK Århus players, and added Birna Berg Haraldsdóttir, June Bøttger, Louise Kristensen and Ditte Vind. Heine Eriksen was made the head coach. In their first season they reached the semifinals of the Danish Cup and took bronze medals after beating København Håndbold. They were awarded the win in the round of 16 again ...

Ceres Arena
Ceres Arena (formerly NRGi Arena) is an indoor arena mainly used for handball matches and public events in Aarhus, Denmark. The arena was opened in 2001 and has a capacity of 5,001 spectators (4,394 seats). It is part of the Aarhus Sports Park, which also includes Aarhus Stadium. Ceres Arena is home to Danish Women's Handball League team Aarhus United Elitehandball, Aarhus United and Danish Men's Handball League team Skanderborg Aarhus Håndbold. The arena functioned as the main venue in the 2002 European Women's Handball Championship, 2002 European Women's Championships, hosting the final. The arena was also used for basketball, by Bakken Bears, but because of the high price for renting the arena, Bakken Bears moved back to there old home Vejlby-Risskov Hallen. TV 2 is a Danish government-owned broadcast and subscription television station, based in Odense, Funen. The station was founded in 1986, and made its first official broadcast in 1988. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The 2017 Danish Handball Cup (), known as Santander Cup 2017 for sponsorship reasons, is the 54th edition of the national women's handball cup tournament. Randers HK are the defending champions. Format The initial 6 rounds are managed by the regional federations with the DHF taking over the tournament at the round of 16. It ultimately results in a final four event between Christmas and New Year. The winner of the tournament qualify for the Super Cup where they meet the season's league winner. Mie Enggrob Højlund (born 24 October 1997) is a Danish handball player for Odense Håndbold and the Denmark women's national handball team, Danish national team. Højlund can play both right back and left back, but has said publicly, that she prefers the left back position. Club career Højlund played on the Randers HK youth teams, and in 2014 she became a part of the senior team. She scored a total of 30 goals in her debut season. In the first years she was the back up to national team player Jane Schumacher. In the fall of 2016 she became the first choice on the playmaker position. That season Randers HK won the Danish Women's Handball Cup with a surprise win over FC Midtjylland Håndbold. She ended the season as the second top scorer in the league with 89 goals. Odense Håndbold (in its first season: Odense GOG and after that Handball Club Odense) is a Danish professional women's handball team, that plays in Damehåndboldligaen, Denmark's premier women's handball league. The team's home court is Sydbank Arena in the city of Odense and they play in orange shirts and black shorts. History The precursor to Odense Håndbold, GOG Håndbold's women's team, won four Danish championships in the 1990's.
