Aakashamittayi
''Akashamittayee'' is a 2017 Indian Malayalam-language family drama film co-directed by Samuthirakani and M. Padmakumar. Written by k. Gireesh Kumar. Scripted by Samuthirakani, it is a remake of his 2016 Tamil film '' Appa'' directed by Samuthirakani with Yuvasri Lakshmi and Nasath reprising their roles. The film stars Jayaram, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Iniya, and Sarayu in the lead roles. It was released in Kerala on 19 October 2017 coinciding with Deepavali. The movie nicely captures the area around Hindustan Newsprint Limited (HNL), located at Velloor in Kottayam District in Kerala. Plot The story is about two fathers with different mindsets, and how that reflects on the way they raise their respective kids. Appa (2016 Film)
''Appa'' ( ''Father'') is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language independent drama film written and directed by Samuthirakani and is produced by Sasikumar who also plays a guest appearance. The film is a spin-off to the 2012 film '' Saattai'' and the second installment in the film series. The film features Samuthirakani and Thambi Ramaiah reprising their roles from the previous film, while Namo Narayanan, Vignesh and Nasath play supporting roles. Featuring music composed by Ilaiyaraaja, the film began production in late 2015 and continued till March 2016. The film was released on 1 July 2016. The film was remade in Malayalam as '' Aakashamittayi'' (2017) with Jayaram playing the main lead. Samuthirakani
Samuthirakani (born 26 April 1973) is an Indian actor and film director who predominantly works in Tamil films and Telugu films besides appearing in a number of Malayalam films. He worked as an assistant to director K Balachander. He won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2016 for ''Visaranai''. Early life Samuthirakani was born on 26 April 1973 in Seithur, Rajapalayam, Tamil Nadu. He did his B.Sc. in Mathematics from the Rajapalayam Rajus College and he also earned a Bachelor of Law from Ambedkar Law College. However, he aimed to become an actor. Anil Murali (12 April 1964 – 30 July 2020) was an Indian actor in Malayalam cinema. He acted in more than 200 films. He started out in the film industry as a villain before later taking on character roles. He died on 30 July 2020, as a result of liver-related ailments. Personal life and death He was born to Muraleedharan Nair and Sreekumari Amma at Thiruvananthapuram. He has 3 elder brothers and a younger sister. Anil was married to Suma.
