"A Small Victory" is the 10th track and the second single from American rock band Faith No More's fourth studio album '' Angel Dust'', released as a single on August 3, 1992. The song was later remixed by Youth of Killing Joke and released later the same month. It was their last single to chart on the US ''Billboard'' Modern Rock Tracks chart, peaking at number 11, and reached the top 30 in Finland and the United Kingdom. When asked about the song's meaning, Mike Patton said: Artwork The cover features a World War II photograph of a soldier loading shells, which originally featured on the cover of ''Life'' in September 1939. Music video At the time it was described as their "most radio-friendly song" and stylistically more of a "dance song" than their other works. Faith No More
Faith No More is an American Rock music, rock band from San Francisco, California, formed in 1979. Before settling on the current name in July 1983, the band performed under the names Sharp Young Men and later Faith No Man. Bassist Billy Gould, keyboardist/rhythm guitarist Roddy Bottum and drummer Mike Bordin are the longest-remaining members of the band, having been involved since its inception. The band underwent several early lineup changes, and some major changes later. The current lineup of Faith No More consists of Gould, Bordin, Bottum, lead guitarist Jon Hudson, and vocalist/lyricist Mike Patton. John Brough
John Brough (; rhymes with "huff") (September 17, 1811 – August 29, 1865) was a War Democrat politician from Ohio. He served as the 26th governor of Ohio during the final years of the American Civil War, dying in office of gangrene shortly after the war concluded. Early life and career Born in Marietta, Ohio, to an English immigrant and a Pennsylvania-born mother, Brough was orphaned at the age of 11. To support himself, he became a printer's apprentice, and later received three years of part-time education at Ohio University, where he worked part-time as a reporter for the ''Athens Mirror''. He rose to become a newspaper publisher in Marietta and then in Lancaster, where he and his brother Charles purchased the ''Ohio Eagle'', a paper that espoused the views of the Democratic Party. Jim Martin (musician)
James Blanco Martin (born July 21, 1961, in Hayward, California), known professionally as "Big" Jim Martin, is an American guitarist best known for his membership in the rock band Faith No More from 1983 to late 1993. He also played guitar with the groups EZ-Street, Vicious Hatred, Agents of Misfortune, Recluse, and Pigs of Death. Martin was known for his long hair, bushy beard, and trademark red-rimmed glasses that he wears alone or over another darker pair of glasses. Early career In the early '80s, Martin was playing guitar in thrash band Vicious Hatred. During the '80s, he was an on-off member of the jamming band Spastik Children, also featuring schoolmate and close friend Cliff Burton and other members of Metallica.
