''A Reality Tour'' is a live album by David Bowie that was released on 25 January 2010. The album features 22 and 23 November 2003 performances in Dublin during his concert tour A Reality Tour. This is an audio version of the concert video of the same name, except that it adds three bonus tracks. The digital download on iTunes adds two more bonus tracks. David Bowie
David Robert Jones (8 January 194710 January 2016), known as David Bowie ( ), was an English singer, songwriter and actor. The monthly ''Exclaim!'' print magazine publishes seven issues per year, distributing over 103,000 copies to over 2,600 locations across Canada. In addition to music, the magazine also covers film and comedy. History ''Exclaim!'' began as a discussion among campus and community radio programmers at Ryerson's CKLN-FM in 1991. Cactus (Pixies Song)
"Cactus" is a song by the American alternative rock band Pixies, and is the eighth track on their 1988 album ''Surfer Rosa''. It was written and sung by the band's frontman Black Francis and engineered by Steve Albini. "P-I-X-I-E-S" Between the second verse and chorus of "Cactus," the band and the studio members can be heard spelling out "Pixies." ''Young Americans'' is the ninth studio album by the English musician David Bowie, released on 7March 1975 through RCA Records. A departure from the glam rock style of previous albums, the record showcased Bowie's interest in soul and R&B. Music critics have described the sound as blue-eyed soul; Bowie himself labelled the album's sound "plastic soul". Recording sessions began at Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia in August 1974, after the first leg of Bowie's Diamond Dogs Tour. The record was produced by Tony Visconti, and includes a variety of musicians, such as the guitarist Carlos Alomar, who became one of Bowie's most frequent collaborators, and the backing vocalists Ava Cherry, Robin Clark and then-unknown singer Luther Vandross. Carlos Alomar
Carlos Alomar (born 7 May 1951) is a Puerto Rican guitarist. He is best known for his work with David Bowie from the mid-1970s to the early 2000s, having played on more Bowie albums than any other musician. History The son of a Pentecostal minister, Alomar was raised in New York. From the age of ten he taught himself to play the guitar, and started playing professionally at age sixteen. In the 1960s he performed during "Amateur Hour" at the Apollo Theater, eventually joining the house band, backing Chuck Berry and many leading soul artists. Around 1968–69 he toured for eight months in James Brown's live band, eventually quitting after being docked wages for missing a musical cue. In 1969 Alomar formed a group called Listen My Brother with vocalists Luther Vandross, Fonzi Thornton (later to work with Chic and Roxy Music), and Robin Clark. ''Reality'' is the twenty-fourth studio album by the English musician David Bowie, originally released in Europe on 15September 2003, and the following day in America. His second release through his own ISO label, the album was recorded between January and May 2003 at Looking Glass Studios in New York City, with production by Bowie and longtime collaborator Tony Visconti. Most of the musicians consisted of his then-touring band. Bowie envisioned the album as a set of songs that could be played live. A mostly straightforward rock album with a more direct sound compared to its predecessor '' Heathen'' (2002), ''Reality'' contains covers of the Modern Lovers' "Pablo Picasso" and George Harrison's " Try Some, Buy Some". "New Killer Star" is a song written and performed by David Bowie in 2003 for his album ''Reality (David Bowie album), Reality''. This was the first single from the album. While it is uncertain what the song is really about (like other Bowie songs), the lyrics make oblique reference to life in post-9/11 New York City. ''A Reality Tour'' is a DVD released in 2004 of David Bowie's performance at Point Theatre in Dublin, Ireland in 2003 during the A Reality Tour. Repertoire The set list includes tracks spanning Bowie's 30 plus years in the music business, from '' The Man Who Sold the World'' (1970) all the way to ''Reality'' (2003), along with collaborations such as "Sister Midnight" (with Iggy Pop; originally from ''The Idiot'' (1977)) and "Under Pressure" (with Queen; released as a single in 1981 and later found on ''Hot Space'' the following year).
