A Plus Tard
A Plus Tard (foaled 6 February 2014) is a French-bred thoroughbred racehorse competing in National Hunt racing. Career A Plus Tard was bred in France by Mme Henri Devin and raced five times in the country in 2017 and 2018, never finishing outside of the top three. A Plus Tard won twice, at Saint-Brieuc and Auteuil. In May 2018, A Plus Tard was gelded and in October of that year the horse was sold privately to Cheveley Park Stud and moved to Henry De Bromhead in Ireland. A Plus Tard made his debut for the new owner and trainer combination at Gowran Park in November 2018, finishing second in a 2m4f chase. The following month, taking victory at Naas before finishing second in a Grade 3 at Punchestown. A Plus Tard had a first Cheltenham Festival victory in March 2019, winning the Close Brothers Novices' Handicap Chase. Gelding
A gelding is a castration, castrated male horse or other equine, such as a pony, donkey or a mule. Leopardstown Racecourse
Leopardstown Racecourse is an Irish horse-racing venue, located in Leopardstown, Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, 8 km south of the Dublin city centre. Like the majority of Irish courses, it hosts both National Hunt and Flat racing. The course, built by Captain George Quin and modelled on Sandown Park Racecourse in England, was completed in 1888 and acquired by the Horse Racing Board of Ireland in 1967. Many important races are held here and racing takes place all year round, with about 22 meetings per year. In 1941, noted Royal Air Force pilot Hugh Verity, who flew many secret agents at night into and out of farm fields in France, force landed on the Race Course. He was interned briefly before escaping back to England. The 2022 Cheltenham Gold Cup (known as the Boodles Gold Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 94th annual running of the Cheltenham Gold Cup horse race and was held at Cheltenham Racecourse, Gloucestershire, England, on 18 March 2022. The race was won by the 3-1 favourite A Plus Tard, owned by the Cheveley Park Stud, trained in Ireland by Henry de Bromhead and ridden by Rachael Blackmore. Blackmore became the first female jockey to ride the winner of the Cheltenham Gold Cup. The 2021 winner, Minella Indo, was second, and Protektorat finished third. The Betfair Chase is a Grade 1 National Hunt steeplechase in Great Britain which is open to horses aged five years or older. It is run at Haydock Park over a distance of about 3 miles and furlongs (3 miles 1 furlong and 125 yards, or 5,143 metres), and during its running there are nineteen fences to be jumped. The race is scheduled to take place each year in November. History The event was established in 2005, and it originally served as the first part of a bonus scheme called the Betfair Million. Minella Indo (foaled 18 April 2013) is an Irish racehorse who competes in National Hunt racing. He was one of the leading Novices' Hurdlers 2018/19 season when he recorded Grade 1 victories in the Spa Novices' Hurdle and Irish Daily Mirror Novice Hurdle. He made little impact in his first season over fences but emerged as a top class steeplechaser in the 2020/21 season as he won the M W Hickey Memorial Chase and the BetVictor Make Your Best Bet Chase before taking the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Savills Chase
The Savills Chase is a Grade 1 National Hunt steeplechase in Ireland which is open to horses aged five years or older. It is run at Leopardstown over a distance of about 3 miles (4,828 metres), and during its running there are seventeen fences to be jumped. The race is scheduled to take place each year during the Christmas Festival meeting in late December. It was first run over its present distance in 1992, when it became known as the Ericsson Chase. This replaced an earlier event, the Black and White Whisky Champion Chase, which had been run mostly over 2½ miles since 1986. The Ryanair Chase is a Grade 1 National Hunt steeplechase in Great Britain which is open to horses aged five years or older. It is run on the New Course at Cheltenham over a distance of about 2 miles and 4½ furlongs (2 miles 4 furlongs and 127 yards, or 4,139 metres), and during its running there are seventeen fences to be jumped.
