A Personal Journey
''A Personal Journey'' is the debut studio album by the Australian heavy metal band Lord. This release was designed as a solo outlet for Lord Tim of the Sydney metal band Dungeon to release material he felt was inappropriate for that group. Overview The tracks on ''A Personal Journey'' are a mixture of instrumentals and songs. The ex-Dungeon bass guitarist Justin Sayers and Dungeon guitarist Stu Marshall also contributed. Track 5, "By George!", is a tribute to the Dokken guitarist George Lynch. The album was released in 2003 by the Melbourne label Metal Warriors before being remixed and reissued with an extra track, "The Duel" (a reworking of an early Dungeon song), by Modern Invasion in December 2004. When Dungeon split up that year, Lord became a complete band and has since recorded further albums. Lord (band)
Lord (sometimes stylized as LORD) is a heavy metal band from Wollongong, Australia. The group began as a solo project for "Lord Tim" Grose of Dungeon in 2003 and expanded into a complete band when Dungeon broke up in 2005. LORD has appeared with major acts that include Queensrÿche, Nightwish, Nevermore, Saxon and Gamma Ray. The band's name is usually stylised in all capital letters. History Between 1988 and 2000, Dungeon singer/guitarist and founding member "Lord Tim" Grose had collected a number of compositions he felt were either too personal to submit to the band or inappropriate for its style. In 2003, he collected these songs on an album called '' A Personal Journey'' that was issued under the name LORD. Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. Lord Tim
Lord Tim (born 1970) is the professional name of Australian musician Tim Ian Grose. Based in Wollongong, New South Wales, he is best known as the founder of the heavy metal band Dungeon. The band started in 1989, released several albums, and was considered one of the leading metal bands in Australia. When the band broke up in 2005 after an international tour with Megadeth, Lord Tim continued its legacy with another band he had created, LORD, for which he is singer, guitarist and principal songwriter. Biography Born in Broken Hill on 2 April 1970, he started singing along with Duran Duran and Pseudo Echo as a teenager, though considered himself too shy to perform on stage. Ascendence
''Ascendence'' is the second album by the Australian heavy metal band Lord. It was released on 4 September 2007 by the Melbourne label Modern Invasion and in Japan by Soundholic. Overview Pre-production work began on the album in late 2006. In January 2007 Lord Tim started a thread on the band's online forum that detailed the writing and recording process, also revealing that the artwork for the album had already been completed, by the Colombian artist Felipe Machado Franco. ''Ascendence'' was recorded at Main Street Studios and the band's studio in Wollongong, Australia. The pop singer Tania Moran recorded backing vocals for several songs and guest musicians Chris Brooks and Mark Furtner added guitar solos in four tracks. Dungeon (band)
Dungeon was an Australian melodic power metal band based in Sydney, considered by some as one of Australia's leading metal bands. The group existed from 1989 to 2005, released six full-length albums, and toured heavily both throughout Australia and internationally. History (1989–1996) Formation and early period The band was formed in the New South Wales outback mining town of Broken Hill in 1989 by guitarist Tim Grose featuring himself, bassist Eddie Tresize and drummer Ian DeBono. According to an extensive bio at the band's official website, Grose took on the singing role due to an inability to find a suitable vocalist. Dokken is an American glam metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1978. It split up in 1989 and reformed four years later. George Lynch (born September 28, 1954) is an American guitarist, best known for his work with the hard rock band Dokken and his post-Dokken solo band Lynch Mob. He is considered to be one of the most famous and influential 1980s metal guitarists and is known for his unique playing style and sound. He is ranked No. 47 on "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" by ''Guitar World'' magazine and No. 10 on "Top 10 Metal Guitarists of All Time" by Gibson.
