Croatian (; ) is the standard language, standardised Variety (linguistics)#Standard varieties, variety of the Serbo-Croatian pluricentric language mainly used by Croats. It is the national official language and literary standard of Croatia, one of the official languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, the Serbian province of Vojvodina, the European Union and a recognized minority language elsewhere in Serbia and other neighbouring countries. In the mid-18th century, the first attempts to provide a Croatian literary standard began on the basis of the Neo-Shtokavian dialect that served as a supraregional lingua franca – pushing back regional Chakavian, Kajkavian, and Shtokavian vernaculars. The decisive role was played by Croatian Vukovians, who cemented the usage of Ijekavian Neo-Shtokavian as the literary standard in the late 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, in addition to designing a phonological orthography. Zoran Tadić
Zoran Tadić (2 September 1941 – 9 September 2007) was a Croatian film director, critic, and pedagogue. Zoran Tadić is considered as one of the most important Croatian film directors, having directed more than twenty films from 1969 to 1997. He studied comparative literature and philosophy in Zagreb. He began his career as a critic and publicist in 1961, and then as an assistant, assistant director and co-writer. Tadić is best known for '' Rhythm of a Crime'' (1981), a science-fiction thriller based on a short story by Pavao Pavličić. Ivica Vidović (10 May 1939 – 18 April 2011) was a Croatian actor who appeared in many classic Yugoslav films from the 1960s until his death in 2011. Following his screen debut in 1962 film ''Rana jesen'', Vidović appeared in many films gradually developing screen personality of a quiet, soft-spoken and mild-mannered intellectual often at odds with primitive and violent surrounding. This image served him very well both in serious dramas and comedies. To the international audience, Vidović is arguably best known for the role of Soviet ice skater in 1971 cult film ''WR: Mysteries of the Organism''. Across the former Yugoslavia, Vidović's best role was for the 1970 cult mini-series ''Naše malo misto''. The Croatian Film Association (, HFS), also known as the Croatian Film Clubs' Association, is an association of non-professional film and video groups in Croatia.
