A Little Something Special
"A Little Something Special" is a 1997 Disney comics story created by Don Rosa to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Scrooge McDuck's first appearance in Carl Barks's " Christmas on Bear Mountain" in 1947. The story was first published in the Danish '' Anders And & Co.'' #1997-26; the first American publication was in '' The Adventurous Uncle Scrooge McDuck'' #2, in March 1998. Development Don Rosa was asked by the editors at Egmont to write the "official" Scrooge McDuck 50th anniversary story, a responsibility that he took very seriously. One problem that he faced was how to write a story set in the contemporary Duck universe about Scrooge's "50th birthday", since the character is clearly older than 50. This was solved by writing the story about the 50th anniversary of Scrooge's arrival in Duckburg. Rosa's Duck stories all take place sometime in the 1950s (the era when Carl Barks created the characters), and it was established in Rosa's ''The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck'' tha ...

Scrooge McDuck
Scrooge McDuck (occasionally stylized as $crooge McDuck) is a cartoon character created in 1947 for The Walt Disney Company by Carl Barks. Appearing in Disney comics, Scrooge is a Scottish-born American anthropomorphic duck. Like his nephew, Donald Duck, he has a yellow-orange bill, legs, and feet. He typically wears a red or blue frock coat, top hat, pince-nez glasses, and spats varying in color. He is portrayed in animation as speaking with a Scottish English, Scottish accent. Originally intended to be used only once, Scrooge became one of the most popular characters in the Disney comics world, as well as Barks' signature work. Scrooge is an extremely rich duck who lives in the fictional city of Duckburg (which is also Donald Duck and Huey, Dewey, and Louie's home city) in the fictional U.S. state of Calisota (a blend of California and Minnesota), whose claimed location is in real-world California, United States. Named after the character Ebenezer Scrooge from Charles Dickens' ...

Last Sled To Dawson
"Last Sled to Dawson" is a 1988 Scrooge McDuck comic by Don Rosa. It is Rosa's third full-length Uncle Scrooge story after '' The Son of the Sun'' and ''Cash Flow'', both published the previous year. ''Last Sled'' is the first story in which Rosa delves into Scrooge's past life, on his journey to becoming the richest man in the world, and so acts as a spiritual sequel to Carl Barks's classic Scrooge story "Back to the Klondike", describing his experiences as a gold prospector during the Klondike Gold Rush. Rosa would eventually create ''The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck'', a twelve-part serial chronicling several episodes in this journey, beginning with Scrooge's childhood in Scotland, and including the episode "The King of the Klondike", and the later companion stories " The Prisoner of White Agony Creek" and " The Hearts of the Yukon", also taking place in Yukon. The story was first published in '' Uncle Scrooge Adventures'' #5 by Gladstone Publishing in June 1988. Plot In ...

Back To The Klondike
"Back to the Klondike" is a Disney comic book story created by Carl Barks, created in September 1952 and first published in March 1953 in ''Four Color'' #456. Scrooge McDuck returns to Klondike where he has made his fortune, bringing Donald and the three nephews along, to find back the gold he has left there. This story is a turning point in Barks' depiction of Scrooge: the first to show that the character has a softer side, and his miserly gruffness is partly a mask that he uses to guard against loneliness and loss. Plot At the beginning of the story, Scrooge McDuck seems to be suffering from memory lapses to the point he cannot even recognize Donald. Donald drags him to a doctor and Scrooge is given some pills supposed to help recover his memory. As his memory returns, Scrooge suddenly starts planning to return to the Klondike, Yukon, the place of his youth where he earned his wealth. He tells Donald and his nephews, who accompany him, he has left a cargo of gold buried ne ...
