''A Diamond for Disease'' is an EP by Arsis released on October 25, 2005, via Willowtip Records. The title track, "A Diamond for Disease", took almost four months to write. This release also includes an Alice Cooper cover from the ''Raise Your Fist and Yell'' album, and "The Promise of Never" (which is a re-recorded track from the band's 2001 demo, originally titled ''Fortune's Envy''). The EP was mastered by James Murphy, who is best known for his work with Death, Testament, Obituary, and Disincarnate. Arsis
Arsis is an American heavy metal band from Virginia Beach, Virginia, formed in 2000. The band is currently signed to Nuclear Blast. History Demos and Willowtip era (2000–2006) Arsis was started by James Malone and Michael "Mike" Van Dyne in 2000, who met while attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston. The name ''Arsis'' comes from the musical term ''arsis and thesis'' meaning up and down beats. They recorded two demos independently in 2001 and 2002, which were later officially released by Negative-Existence Records in 2007. Arsis signed to Willowtip Records in 2003 and released their highly acclaimed debut album, ''A Celebration of Guilt'', in 2004, which later ranked #50 on Decibel Magazine's "Top 100 Death Metal Albums of All Time" list. Raise Your Fist And Yell
''Raise Your Fist and Yell'' is the tenth solo studio album by American rock musician Alice Cooper, released on September 5, 1987, by MCA Records. It features the track “Prince of Darkness”, which is featured very briefly in the John Carpenter film of the same name, in which Cooper has a cameo as a murderous vagrant. The song can be heard on the Walkman of one of his victims. A music video was made for the song "Freedom", which also became the album's sole single. ''Raise Your Fist and Yell'' is the only Alice Cooper album to feature Ken K. Mary on drums and the second and last to feature Kip Winger on bass. The album continues the slasher film trend created by Cooper’s previous album '' Constrictor''. Kane Roberts
Kane Roberts (born Robert William Athas; January 16, 1962) is an American heavy metal guitarist best known for his work with Alice Cooper. Additionally, he has performed as a solo act, and his cover of the unreleased Bon Jovi song "Does Anybody Really Fall In Love Anymore" (which had already been covered by Cher on her '' Heart of Stone'' album) cracked the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100. He also played a cameo role as a road worker in Wes Craven's '' Shocker''. Roberts is notable for his Rambo-like appearance and physique and his usage of an electric guitar shaped like a machine gun. James Franklin Murphy (born July 30, 1967) is an American guitarist. He is best known for his work in metal bands Obituary, Death and Testament. He founded Disincarnate, an early death metal band. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2001 but recovered. In October 2011, Murphy stated that the tumor had returned but that it was non-cancerous and that it was being treated pharmacologically. He is working on a tribute album to Death founder Chuck Schuldiner who died from pneumonia, caused by complications of his treatment for a brain tumor. He also produced Deron Miller's band World Under Blood. Obituary is an American death metal band formed in Tampa, Florida in 1984. They were a fundamental act in the development of death metal music, and are one of the most successful death metal bands of all time. Testament is an American thrash metal band from Berkeley, California. Formed in 1983 under the name Legacy, the band's current lineup comprises rhythm guitarist Eric Peterson, lead vocalist Chuck Billy, lead guitarist Alex Skolnick, bassist Steve Di Giorgio and drummer Dave Lombardo. Testament has experienced many lineup changes over the years, with Peterson being the only remaining original member, though they have since been rejoined by one of its songwriters Skolnick, who had been out of the band from 1992 to 2005. Melodic Death Metal
Melodic death metal (also referred to as melodeath) is a subgenre of death metal that employs highly melodic guitar riffs, often borrowing from traditional heavy metal (including New Wave of British Heavy Metal). The genre features the heaviness of death metal but with highly melodic or harmonized guitar riffs and solos, and often features high-pitched shrieked vocals (differing from traditional death metal) alongside the low-pitched growls commonly featured in traditional death metal.
