A Dal 2019
Hungary was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. The local Media Services and Support Trust Fund (MTVA) and the Hungarian broadcaster Duna Media Service organised the national final ''2019'' in order to select the Hungarian entry for the 2019 contest in Tel Aviv, Israel. As of 2025, this was Hungary's last entry in the contest, before the country withdrew the following year. The absence has continued in every edition since. Background Prior to the 2019 contest, Hungary had participated in the Eurovision Song Contest sixteen times since its first entry in . Joci Pápai
József "Joci" Pápai (; born 22 September 1981) is a Hungarian singer, rapper and guitarist of Romani people in Hungary, Romani descent. He represented Hungary in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017, Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the song "Origo (song), Origo" finishing in 8th place. He represented Hungary again at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song "". However he failed to qualify for the grand final being the first Hungarian entry not to since Hungary in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011, returning in 2011. AWS (band)
AWS (pronounced ah-vi-esh) is a Hungarian post-hardcore band formed in early November 2006 by Örs Siklósi (September 4, 1991 – February 5, 2021), Bence Brucker, Dániel Kökényes, Soma Schiszler and Áron Veress. Their music is characterized by diversity, powerful performances, and sudden changes, which utilizes metal, psychedelic rock, alternative and post-rock styles. Up to now, they have released five studio albums, two live albums and fourteen video clips. Their music videos often have juxtapositions of images of violence and celebrities in order to bring light to problems that the world faces, exhibiting what they call being "anti-celebrity". Lilla Vincze (born 5 June 1961) is a Hungarian singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist of pop band Napoleon Boulevard. Life Vincze was born on 5 June 1961 in Siófok, Hungary. Her career began in 1986 with her joining the band Napoleon Boulevard when they won the Interpop Festival. She was initially in the band until 1990, after which she worked with István Cziglán. Beatrice (band)
Beatrice (or simply Ricse, sometimes referred to as ''Nagy Feró és a Beatrice'' or ''Nagyferó és a Beatrice'') is a Hungary, Hungarian rock music, rock band. It was founded in 1969 as a women's band, and played mostly cover songs. In 1971, Nagy Feró joined the band as a frontman. In the following years, the members were gradually replaced, and from 1974 they began to write their own songs in the then popular glam rock style. In order to get a record deal the band became oriented towards disco music from 1976. Feró Nagy
Ferenc "Feró" Nagy (born 14 January 1946 in Letenye, Hungary) is a Hungarian rock singer and musician. Although not proficient on any instrument, he can play the guitar, the harmonica, the saxophone and the piano. Career Feró studied at the Polytechnic and earned a degree in engineering. He began singing in rock bands as a hobby in the 1960s. He became famous as the singer, frontman and songwriter of the band Beatrice in the late 1970s. He created a "phenomenon" with his stage style, doing long comical and/or aggressive monologues and performances calling himself "A Nemzet csótánya" (translated as roach of the nation") and being an outspoken anti-Socialist.
