Wallas Eaton
Wallas Eaton (18 February 1917 – 3 November 1995), sometimes credited as Wallace Eaton or Wallis Eaton, was an English film, radio, television and theatre actor. He is perhaps best remembered for his voice roles between 1949 and 1960 in the BBC radio-comedy serial '' Take It from Here''. Early life Eaton was born in Leicester, Leicestershire. He was educated at the Alderman Newton School, and later would read History and English at Christ's College, Cambridge. Eaton joined the Army in 1940, and served with distinction during World War II, eventually becoming a major in charge of a searchlight battery. Career His first stage appearance was at the Theatre Royal in his home town of Leicester in 1936. William Simpson Fraser (5 June 1908 – 9 September 1987) was a Scottish actor who appeared on stage, screen and television for many years. In 1986 he won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy Performance for his stage role in the play '' When We Are Married''. Early life Fraser was born in Perth and educated at Strathallan School. He began his career as a clerk in a bank before beginning to act. In the early days when acting work was scarce, Fraser was often penniless, frequently sleeping rough on the Embankment in London. Before the Second World War, he ran the Connaught Theatre in Worthing; when called up he served in a Royal Air Force Special Liaison Unit, reaching the rank of flight lieutenant, where he met and became friends with Eric Sykes. Just after the war a chance meeting in a London street led to Fraser's giving Sykes his first work as a writer for radio comedy and the two friends worked together many times over the following years. Arthur Grant B.S.C. (1915–1972) was a British cinematographer. He succeeded Jack Asher as regular Director of Photography for Hammer Film Productions. Michael Carreras
Michael Henry Carreras (21 December 1927 – 19 April 1994) was a British film producer and director. He was known for his association with Hammer Films, being the son of founder James Carreras, and taking an executive role in the company during its most successful years. As producer, he worked on '' The Curse of Frankenstein'' (1957), ''Dracula'' (1958) and '' The Curse of the Werewolf'' (1960) and '' She'' (1965) among over sixty other films. He also wrote a smaller number of screenplays. He later turned to directing, with '' The Savage Guns / Tierra brutal'' (1961), '' Maniac'' (1963), '' The Curse of the Mummy's Tomb'' (1964), '' Slave Girls'' (1967), '' The Lost Continent'' (1968) and '' Shatter'' (1975) among others. Edwin Thomas "Ted" Astley (12 April 1922 – 19 May 1998) was a British composer. His best known works are British television themes and scores, most notably the main themes for '' The Saint'', ''Danger Man'' and '' The Baron''. He also successfully diversified into symphonic pop and the arrangement of his theme to ''The Saint'', as re-recorded by Orbital, reached number three in the UK singles chart. Early life Astley was born in Warrington, Lancashire, to Lawrence Astley and Mary Alice Pester. He served in the Second World War as a musician in the Royal Army Service Corps band playing saxophone and clarinet for the troops. Career In the early 1950s, Astley was arranging for Geraldo.
