'' Batman: The Animated Series'' is an American television series produced by Warner Bros. Animation based on the DC Comics superhero Batman. Originally, 85 episodes aired on Fox from 1992 to 1995. A further 24 episodes were aired under the title ''The New Batman Adventures'' after the show moved to The WB. Both series have since aired together on various other networks, including Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Jetix, and The Hub. Each episode is a TV half-hour (22 minutes plus commercials). Sean Catherine Derek (born October 16, 1953) is an American writer, story editor and television producer. She is the daughter of John Derek and Pati Behrs. Career Her screenwriting debut, ''Foodfight!'', was released in 2012. She wrote the script for the fourth BIONICLE movie '' The Legend Reborn''. Boyd Douglas Kirkland (November 4, 1950 – January 27, 2011) was an American television director of animated cartoons. He was best known for his work on '' X-Men: Evolution'' and '' Batman: The Animated Series''. Biography Kirkland was raised in Utah as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church).
