Asociația Club Sportiv Cristalul Cavnic, commonly known as Cristalul Cavnic or simply as Cavnic, is a Romanian football (soccer), football football team, club based in Cavnic, Maramureș County, founded in 1934, re-founded in 2001 and 2024. During the 1970s and 1980s, financially supported by the Mining industry of Romania, mining industry, the club was a constant presence in the Liga III, Divizia C and at its best, reached even the Liga II, Divizia B. History The club was founded in 1934 and played, until 1971, in the county football leagues. Liga IV is the fourth level of the Romanian football league system and is run in all 41 Counties of Romania, counties and in the Bucharest, Municipality of Bucharest. It was known as the Regional Championship, County Championship, Divizia C – County Phase and Divizia D. Its name was changed into Liga IV before the start of the 2006–07 Liga IV, 2006–07 season. Liga IV Maramureș
Liga IV Maramureș is the regional Liga IV football division for clubs in Maramureș County, România, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. It is organized by the County Football Association (Asociația Județeană de Fotbal) and is competed amongst 24 teams divided into 2 series, the winner is promoted to Liga III after a promotion play-off. History In 1968, along with the territorial reorganization of the country, but also due to the large number of requests, Romanian Football Federation, FRF proposes a competitive system in which each county has its own football championship, which will activate the former teams in the regional championship as well as the racing and town championship teams from the previous edition.
