Attention Schema Theory
The attention schema theory (AST) of consciousness is a neuroscientific and evolutionary theory of consciousness (or awareness, subjective awareness) developed by neuroscientist Michael Graziano at Princeton University. It proposes that brains construct subjective awareness as a schematic model of the process of attention. The theory is a materialist theory of consciousness. It shares similarities with the illusionism (consciousness), illusionist ideas of philosophers like Daniel Dennett, Patricia Churchland, and Keith Frankish. Graziano proposed that an attention schema is like the body schema. Just as the brain constructs a simplified model of the body to monitor and control its movement, it also constructs a simplified model of attention to help monitor and control its own attention. Astoria Regional Airport is a joint civil-military public airport in Warrenton, three miles southwest of Astoria, in Clatsop County, Oregon. The airport is owned by the Port of Astoria and is the home of Coast Guard Air Station Astoria. The airport has no airline flights. Aldershot GO Station is a railway station and bus station used by Via Rail and GO Transit, located at Highway 403 and Waterdown Road in the Aldershot community of Burlington, Ontario, Canada. History The Great Western Railway built the first railway station built here in 1855, a wooden structure consisting of ticket office, waiting room and freight room. It was originally named Waterdown Station, due to its location on Waterdown Road. The Great Western was purchased in 1882 by the Grand Trunk Railway, which replaced the station in the 1890s. In 1912, the Canadian Pacific Railway constructed a rail line from Guelph Junction to Hamilton and built a station in the neighbouring town of Waterdown with the GTR station subsequently renamed after the community of Aldershot, where it is situated. Avalanche Skills Training is a standardized form of avalanche training in Canada. Although Avalanche Skills Training (AST) is typically learned by backcountry skiers and snowboarders, it is commonly recommended for all people who want to explore the backcountry by snowmobiling, snowshoeing, hiking, and all other backcountry activities.
