Football Club Trapani 1905, commonly referred to as Trapani, is an Italian football club based in Trapani, Sicily. They are nicknamed the ''Granata'' (the Maroons), after their kit colour. History Foundation The club's roots can be traced back to 1905; on 2 April of that year, local newspaper the Gazzetta di Trapani ran an advert requesting young people to form a football association for Trapani. The club founded, by professor Ugolino Montagna and young native Abele Mazzarese to represent the West-Sicilian town was named Unione Sportiva Trapanese. It is one of the oldest teams on the island, after Palermo and Messina. U.S. Trapanese's first president was Giuseppe Platamone, and the club played its games at Via Spalti. The club's first official game came against Palermo in October 1908; the more experienced Palermitan team won emphatically, scoring 12 goals. Walter Novellino
Walter Alfredo Novellino (born 4 June 1953; ), is an Italian football manager and former player, who played as a midfielder. Club career Novellino was born at Montemarano, province of Avellino. After spending his childhood in São Paulo, Brazil, he later returned to Italy, and started his professional career with Torino, then obtaining his major successes with Perugia and AC Milan, and being nicknamed ''Monzon'' (after an Argentine boxer) due to both his physical resemblance to him and his determination on the pitch. Novellino announced his retirement in 1987. In his first season with Milan, he helped the club to their tenth Serie A title in 1979. When the club was relegated following their involvement in the Totonero 1980 match-fixing scandal, he remained with the team and helped Milan win the Serie B title and immediately obtain promotion back to Serie A; during the 1980–81 Serie B season, he notably scored the goal against Monza which secured promotion for the club. The 2010–11 Lega Pro Seconda Divisione season was the thirty-third football league season of Italian Lega Pro Seconda Divisione since its establishment in 1978, and the third since the renaming from Serie C to Lega Pro. It was divided into two phases: the regular season, and the playoff phase. The league is usually composed of 54 teams divided into three divisions of 18 teams each. This year, only 49 teams met the financial criteria of the league. They will be divided geographically into three divisions of 17, 16 and 16 teams. Teams will play only other teams in their own division, once at home and once away. The 17-team division teams will play 32 matches each, while the 16-team division teams will play 30 matches each. Rocco "Roberto" Boscaglia (born 24 May 1968 in Gela) is an Italian football coach and former midfielder. Career A former amateur midfielder, Boscaglia took his first head coaching role in 2004 at the helm of Eccellenza club Akragas, obtaining a seventh and a second place in two seasons in charge. In 2006, Boscaglia took over from another Sicilian Eccellenza club, Alcamo, leading them to promotion to Serie D.
