Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Selargius Calcio is an Italian association football club, based in Selargius, Sardinia. Selargius currently plays in Serie D. History The club was founded in 1965. At the end of the 1989–90 season it won a historic promotion to Serie D where it played for eleven consecutive seasons. At the end of the 2000–01 season it was relegated to Eccellenza, where it stayed with mixed results until season 2008–09, when Selargius won the national play-off returning so to Serie D. Stadio Generale Virgilio Porcu
Stadio (literally, ''Stadium'') is an Italian pop rock band formed in 1977. The members are Giovanni Pezzoli (drums), Roberto Drovandi (bass guitar), Andrea Fornili (guitar), and Gaetano Curreri (vocals and keyboard). Formation and early recordings The group had a long-standing arrangement as an accompanying band to Lucio Dalla, a Bologna-born singer. Stadio had its first notable public appearance in the mid-1970s, when the group appeared on Lucio Dalla's 1975 collaborative album with Roberto Roversi, '' Anidride Solforosa'' (Italian for "sulfur dioxide"). The members of Stadio on this album were Giovanni Pezzoli playing the drums, Marco Nanni playing the bass and Fabio Liberators playing the keyboard. Promozione
The Promozione (, "promotion") is the sixth level in the Italian football league system. Each individual league winner within the Promozione level progresses to their closest regional league in the Eccellenza level. Depending on each league's local rules, a number of teams each year are relegated from each league, to the 7th level of Italian football, the Prima Categoria. This level of Italian football is completely amateur and is run on a regional level. Eccellenza Sardinia
Eccellenza Sardinia is the regional Italian Eccellenza football division for clubs in Sardinia and is the main football championship played on the island. Formerly called Prima Categoria and Promozione, it usually involves the participation of 17 teams. Whoever scores the most points wins the title of Regional Champion and is directly promoted to the Serie D, the highest amateur championship. The teams ranked second to fifth enter the play-offs (with a single final on a neutral field). The winner advances to the national phase, which includes inter-regional play-offs for a place in Serie D. The Terza Categoria is the lowest level of amateur football in Italy. It is the ninth level in the Italian football league system. Each individual league winner within the Terza Categoria level progresses to their closest regional league in the Seconda Categoria level. Unlike all the levels above the Terza Categoria, there is no relegation. This level of Italian football is completely amateur and is run on a provincial level from the Local and Provincial Committees. Selargius, Ceràrgius or Ceraxius in Sardinian, is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Cagliari in the Italian region Sardinia, located about northeast of Cagliari.
