ASD Pontevecchio
Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Pontevecchio are an Italian association football club located in Ponte San Giovanni, a suburb of Perugia, Umbria. It currently play in Serie D. History Pontevecchio was founded in 1945. The coach Cosmi The club is known for having been coached by Serse Cosmi during the 1990s; during his tenure as head coach, the club achieved a number of promotions which led them from Prima Categoria to Serie D. After Cosmi left Pontevecchio to join Arezzo, the club quickly returned down to the lower divisions, and returned to Serie D only after having won the 2006–07 Eccellenza regional league; the same season they won the Coppa Italia Dilettanti, defeating Caserta in the final. Stadio Degli Ornari
Stadio (literally, ''Stadium'') is an Italian pop rock band formed in 1977. The members are Giovanni Pezzoli (drums), Roberto Drovandi (bass guitar), Andrea Fornili (guitar), and Gaetano Curreri (vocals and keyboard). Formation and early recordings The group had a long-standing arrangement as an accompanying band to Lucio Dalla, a Bologna-born singer. Stadio had its first notable public appearance in the mid-1970s, when the group appeared on Lucio Dalla's 1975 collaborative album with Roberto Roversi, '' Anidride Solforosa'' (Italian for "sulfur dioxide"). The members of Stadio on this album were Giovanni Pezzoli playing the drums, Marco Nanni playing the bass and Fabio Liberators playing the keyboard. The Coppa Italia Dilettanti (Italian for: Italian Amateurs Cup) is an annual knock-out competition for teams from the fifth and sixth levels of Italian football: the Eccellenza and the Promozione. All ties except for the final, which is held at the Stadio Flaminio in Rome, are played on a home-and-away basis. The cup-winners are also awarded promotion to Serie D, the fourth-ranked league. Prior to the 1999–2000 season the competition also included teams from Serie D. There were then two parallel knockout competitions, one for ''Serie D'' teams and one for teams from the Eccellenza and Promozione, with the winners of each sub-tournament meeting in the final. The Eccellenza (, "excellence") is the fifth level (since 2014–15) of Italian football. It is a regional league, composed of 28 divisions divided geographically. The Prima Categoria is the seventh level (since 2014–15) in the Italian football league system and is organized by the National Amateur League by the Regional Committees. Each individual league winner within the Prima Categoria level progresses to their closest regional league in the Promozione level. Serse Cosmi (born 5 May 1958) is an Italian football coach, most recently in charge of Rijeka. Career Early career Cosmi was born in 1958 in Ponte San Giovanni, a Perugia ''frazione''. His father, a cycling fan, called him Serse after Fausto Coppi's brother, a cyclist himself, who died following a fall during a sprint. He worked nine years as primary school teacher, and played amateur football during his freetime for local teams such as Deruta, Cannara, Spello and Pontevecchio, in the role of midfielder. He started a coaching career in the late 1980s in Ellera, as ''under-18'' youth team coach. His debut as first team coach came in 1990, when he was appointed to coach Pontevecchio, a small amateur team from his native town of Ponte San Giovanni. The 2012–13 Serie D was the sixty-fifth edition of the top level Italian non-professional football championship. It represented the fifth tier in the Italian football league system. It consisted of 162 teams divided into nine 18-team divisions. Promotions The nine division winners are automatically promoted to Lega Pro Seconda Divisione 2013–14. The Serie D () is the highest level of semi-professional football in Italy, and the fourth tier of the Italian national league system. It sits beneath the third and lowest fully professional league, Serie C, and feeds in to it through promotion and relegation.
