AO Racing
Autumn Oaks Racing, doing business as AO Racing, is an American sports car racing team that currently competes in the Le Mans Prototype, LMP2 and the Group GT3, GTD Pro classes of the IMSA SportsCar Championship and in Le Mans Prototype, LMP2 in the European Le Mans Series. The team was founded in 2022 by P. J. Hyett and Gunnar Jeannette. The team won the 2024 IMSA SportsCar Championship in the Group GT3, GTD Pro class with driver Laurin Heinrich. History AO Racing was founded in 2022 by GitHub co-founder and technology entrepreneur P. J. Hyett, and American race car driver Gunnar Jeannette. Sebastian "Seb" Priaulx (born 18 January 2001) is a British racing driver who competes for Dempsey-Proton Racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship. Career Early career Priaulx was introduced to motorsports at a karting track near Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours while his father, Andy, was testing there. At the age of 8, he began competing in karts, before progressing to cars in the Ginetta Junior Winter Series at the end of 2015. He cited his early aspirations as reaching Formula 1, but began in the Ginetta ladder in lieu of Formula 4 due to its value for money. Alex Quinn (born 29 December 2000) is a British racing driver. He currently competes in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship driving the No. 52 PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports LMP2 car. Quinn is the current rookie cup champion in the Formula Renault Eurocup. Early career Karting Born in Truro and based near Camelford, Quinn started his karting career in 2011. Paul-Loup Chatin (born 19 October 1991) is a professional racing driver from France who currently competes in the European Le Mans Series with IDEC Sport. He won the European Le Mans Series LMP2 class title in 2014 and 2019. The 2023 IMSA SportsCar Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship) is the 53rd racing season sanctioned by the International Motor Sports Association, which traces its lineage back to the 1971 IMSA GT Championship. It is also the tenth season of the IMSA SportsCar Championship since the merger between the American Le Mans Series and the Rolex Sports Car Series in 2014, and the eighth under the sponsorship of WeatherTech. A Le Mans Prototype (LMP) is the type of sports prototype race car used in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, FIA World Endurance Championship, IMSA SportsCar Championship, European Le Mans Series and Asian Le Mans Series. Le Mans Prototypes were created by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). The technical requirements for an LMP include bodywork covering all mechanical elements of the car. Currently, there are three classes within Le Mans Prototypes, designated LMP1, LMP2, and LMP3.
