ANT1
Antenna, better known as ANT1, is a free-to-air television network airing in Greece. The alternate spelling is wordplay in Greek; ''ena'' (ένα) is the Greek number ''1'' (one), thus ''ANT1'' is pronounced the same as ''Antenna'' (Αντέννα). It launched on 31 December 1989, and is owned by Antenna Group. ANT1 had been a popular network in Greece for years with its line up of soap series including dramas ''Lampsi'' and ''Kalimera Zoi''. Antenna TV studios are located in the Athens suburb of Marousi. History The first broadcast of the channel was on 31 December 1989. Programs that were once shown on ANT1 include ''CBS Evening News'' from the U.S. ANT1 Satellite News was also shown until the late 1990s. Antenna Group or ANT1 Group, is a media company in Greece and currently the largest Greek media company. It was established on 2 August 1989 by Minos Kyriakou. Minos Kyriakou
Minos Xenophon "Minas" Kyriakou (, ; 31 May 1942 – 2 July 2017) was a Greek media and shipping magnate and businessman. He was the president of the Hellenic Olympic Committee and was the President of the International Olympic Academy (IOA, 2004-2009). He was elected to the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) council in August 2003. Early life Minos Kyriakou is the son of Xenophon Kyriacou and Athina Revidies. He was educated in France, Switzerland and at Columbia University in the US, from where he has a bachelor's degree. Digea
Digea is a Greek network operator that provides a digital terrestrial television system in Greece for seven nationwide free-to-air channels (Alpha TV, Alter Channel, ANT1, Makedonia TV, Mega Channel, Skai TV and Star Channel). Marousi or Maroussi (), also known as Amarousio (), is a city and a suburb in the northeastern part of the Athens#Athens Urban Area, Athens urban area, Greece. Marousi dates back to the era of the History of Athens, ancient Athenian Republic; its ancient name was ''Athmonum, Athmonon'' () and it represented one of the 10 Athenian sub-cities. The KNVB Beker (; ), branded as the TOTO KNVB Beker for sponsorship reasons, is a competition in the Netherlands organised by the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) since 1898.
