AM PM Records
AM:PM Records was the dance division of A&M Records Ltd in the United Kingdom from 1994 to 1998, with Simon Dunmore as A&R. In 1999, A&M's owner PolyGram merged with Universal Music Group, and the label ceased in 2002. AM:PM produced 11 UK top 40 hits including Ultra Naté's "Free", Mousse T's " Horny", Wamdue Project's "King of My Castle", Heller and Farley Project's "Ultra Flava", Smokin Beats' "Dreams", MJ Cole's "Sincere" and the 2000 release of K-Ci & JoJo's "Tell Me It's Real". The dance label of Universal, similarly named PM:AM Recordings, was launched in 2012 with releases by artists such as Afrojack, Tiesto and Avicii. Dance Music
Dance music is music composed specifically to facilitate or accompany dancing. It can be either a whole musical piece or part of a larger musical arrangement. In terms of performance, the major categories are live dance music and recorded dance music. While there exist attestations of the combination of dance and music in ancient times (for example Ancient Greek vases sometimes show dancers accompanied by musicians), the earliest Western dance music that we can still reproduce with a degree of certainty are old fashioned dances. "Dreams" is a song by English house/UK garage duo Smokin Beats, featuring singer Lyn Eden on vocals. It was first released on the duo's own label Smokin Beats in 1996, then released as an official single on the AM:PM label in 1997, containing remixes by Erick Morillo, Ian Pooley and Kings of Tomorrow. Tim Bergling (; 8 September 1989 – 20 April 2018), known professionally as Avicii (, ), was a Swedish DJ, remixer and music producer. At the age of 16, Bergling began posting his remixes on electronic music forums, which led to his first record deal. He rose to prominence in 2011 with his single "Levels". Nick Leonardus van de Wall (; born 9 September 1987), better known as Afrojack, is a Dutch DJ, music producer and remixer from Spijkenisse, South Holland. In 2007, he founded the record label Wall Recordings; his debut album '' Forget the World'' was released in 2014. K-Ci & JoJo is an American R&B duo, consisting of brothers Cedric "K-Ci" Hailey (born September 2, 1969) and Joel "JoJo" Hailey (born June 10, 1971). Natives of Monroe, North Carolina, they are also the lead singers of the chart-topping R&B group Jodeci with the DeGrate brothers—Donald (better known as DeVante Swing) and Mr. Dalvin.
