AM (TV Programme)
''AM'' (formerly known as ''The AM Show'') was a New Zealand morning news and talk show that airs from 6am to 9am on Three. The programme is presented by Lloyd Burr, Melissa Chan-Green, Nicky Styris, Michael O'Keefe, and William Waiirua. Former presenters included Ryan Bridge, Bernadine Oliver-Kerby, Amanda Gillies, Mark Richardson and Aziz Al-Sa'afin. It was presented by Duncan Garner from 2017 until his resignation in August 2021. News and sport bulletins are provided by ''Newshub''. The show replaced '' Paul Henry'' after it was announced the frontman of the show, Paul Henry, was resigning and therefore the show was going to be replaced. The announcement was made by MediaWorks in November 2016, and ''Paul Henry'' last aired on 16 December 2016. The show's reporters are Sinelle Fernandez in Auckland, and Ashleigh McCaull in Wellington. Michael O'Keefe (footballer)
Michael Peter O'Keeffe (born 9 August 1990) is a New Zealand footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Team Wellington and played for the New Zealand U23 national team. Since 2017 until its closure in July 2024, O’Keeffe has been a TV reporter and presenter for Newshub. He is the younger brother of rugby union referee, Ben O'Keeffe. Career O'Keeffe grew up in Blenheim, New Zealand and was schooled at Marlborough Boys' College and Christchurch Boys' High School. He then moved to Fairfield, Connecticut where he began his university studies whilst also on a full soccer scholarship. O'Keeffe graduated from Fairfield University with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A), Television New Media. Michael moved to Wellington, New Zealand, where he honed his goal keeping skills as a member of Blenheim All Stars indoor handball team. Magic (New Zealand Radio Network)
Magic is a New Zealand oldies radio network owned by MediaWorks New Zealand. The network targets New Zealand's growing population of baby boomers with a line-up of veteran broadcasters. Its breakfast show (formerly ''Magic in the Morning'', ''Magic Breakfast'' and ''Bunting in the Morning'' respectively), is hosted by Mark McCarron. Magic operated Magic Talk, a nationwide Auckland-based talkback, news and sport radio network formed by the 2019 rebrand of Radio Live. The station competed directly against New Zealand Media and Entertainment (NZME) station Newstalk ZB. Magic also operated Magic Music, as its music leg. ''Newshub'' (stylised as Newshub.) was a New Zealand news service that operated from 1989 to 2024 and served as the local news division of Warner Bros. Discovery New Zealand until its closure. The division, known as ''3 News'' until 2016, had produced news bulletins and current affairs programming for the television channel Three from its inception. It also operated a news website and on radio stations run by MediaWorks between 2016 and 2021. The Newshub brand was launched in February 2016 as part of the division's transition to digital journalism. MediaWorks sold Three and Newshub to US multimedia company Discovery, Inc., with the acquisition completed in December 2020. Radio Live (stylised as Radio LIVE) was a nationwide Auckland-based New Zealand talkback, news and sport radio network owned and operated by MediaWorks New Zealand. It was formed by the 2005 split of talk and racing network Radio Pacific into a dedicated talk network which prioritised breaking news coverage (Radio Live) and a talk network which broadcast live horse racing and greyhound racing commentaries which initially retained the Radio Pacific name before a rebrand to Bsport and finally LiveSport.
