AMD Hybrid Graphics
AMD Hybrid Graphics technology is a collective brand from Advanced Micro Devices, AMD for features of its Radeon line of discrete and integrated Graphics Processing Unit, GPUs, promoting higher performance and productivity while reducing energy consumption. The technology previously applied to selected chipsets of the AMD 700 chipset series and AMD 800 chipset series only. The technology was announced as ATI Hybrid Graphics on January 23, 2008, with Radeon R600#Radeon HD 2400, Radeon HD 2400 series and Radeon R600#Radeon HD 3400, Radeon HD 3400 series video cards supporting hybrid graphics functionality. Originally, ATI Technologies, ATI announced this feature would only be supported in Vista, but in August 2008 they added support to their Windows XP drivers. AMD PowerPlay is the brand name for a set of technologies for the reduction of the energy consumption implemented in several of AMD's graphics processing units and APUs supported by their proprietary graphics device driver "Catalyst". AMD Eyefinity is a brand name for AMD video card products that support multi-monitor setups by integrating multiple (up to six) display controllers on one GPU.
