Ali Project (typeset as ALI PROJECT) is a Japanese rock band with a strong Japanese aristocrat-style image, consisting of and . The band's work is divided into two styles, which lead singer/lyricist Arika Takarano has termed for the band's light, cheerful and/or refreshing songs, and for songs that take on a darker and more mysterious tone. Career They made their indie debut in the charts in 1988 as with their album . The album was later included in Tatsumi Takayuki's book , which led to the band being classified under the progressive rock genre. Takarano later endorsed this description. is a Japanese light novel series written by Nisio Isin and illustrated by Take. The series is published by Kodansha under the ''Kodansha Box'' imprint. The story revolves around a ''katanagari'', or "sword hunt" for 12 weapons that were created by a single swordsmith. An anime adaptation by White Fox began airing on January 26, 2010, and consisted of 12 episodes. A single episode of the series was aired each month.
