ALCO T-6
The Alco T6 (DL 440) is a diesel-electric switcher locomotive rated at , that rides on two-axle trucks, having a B-B wheel arrangement. The 'T' stands for 'Transfer', meaning this locomotive is capable of faster transition and higher sustained speeds than the regular 'S' - type yard switcher series. A major difference underlying this shift is the use of the heavier GE 752 traction motors, as used on road locomotives, in place of the GE 731 traction motors used on nearly all Alco's preceding switchers. The 752 motors give the T-6 a very substantial increase in continuous tractive effort, which greatly improved its slow-speed lugging performance. The T-6 was the last series of locomotives built by Alco. The last T-6 built in 1969, the same year that the company had left the locomotive business. Kaiser Steel
Kaiser Steel was a steel company and integrated steel mill near Fontana, California. Industrialist Henry J. Kaiser founded the company on December 1, 1941, and workers fired up the plant's first blast furnace, named "Big Bess" after Kaiser's wife, on December 30, 1942. Then in August 1943, the plant would produce its first steel plate for the Pacific Coast shipbuilding industry amid World War II. Resources for early production came from various sources, and the Fontana site presented some logistical disadvantages. However, the plant continued to grow in capacity after the war, adding more furnaces and metal rollers while also introducing new processes. The company would also eventually develop its own mines and railroad so that the steel mill formed a node in Kaiser's larger, vertically-integrated business. Georges Creek Railway
The Georges Creek Railway was a shortline railroad in Western Maryland that performed contract switching, and it owns of trackage between Westernport and Carlos. The railroad was headquartered at 119 Pratt Street in Luke in the former Luke Post Office. Gerald Altizer and Pat Stakem are the primary partners in the company. Operating since December 2007 on CSX Transportation and plant trackage, the firm did contract switching services for the Verso (formerly NewPage) Paper Mill in Luke. Delaware Coast Line Railroad
The Delaware Coast Line Railroad was a short-line railroad located in Sussex County, Delaware. The company operated two lines on track owned by the State of Delaware: one running from Ellendale east to Milton and another running from Georgetown east to Cool Spring.
