AFP Central Command
The Visayas Command (abbrv. as VISCOM) is the Armed Forces of the Philippines' unified command in charge of all the visayas islands. It is responsible for the defense of these areas against external aggression, as well as combating terrorism and insurgency. It was formerly known as the Central Command (CENTCOM) before being effectively renamed on 11 August 2021 based on the approved memorandum from the Department of National Defense. History On May 17, 1942, the 3rd Military Area (3MA), the original unit of the present-day Central Command, was organized and activated as a wartime military unit under the United States Armed Forces in the Far East (USAFFE) to provide an effective defense against the Japanese invaders. New People's Army
The New People's Army (; abbreviated NPA or BHB) is the armed wing of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP). It acts as the CPP's principal organization, aiming to consolidate political power from what it sees as the present "bourgeois reactionary puppet government" and to aid in the " people's democratic revolution". Lieutenant general (Lt Gen, LTG and similar) is a military rank used in many countries. The rank traces its origins to the Middle Ages, where the title of lieutenant general was held by the second-in-command on the battlefield, who was normally subordinate to a captain general. In modern armies, lieutenant general normally ranks immediately below general (or colonel general) and above major general; it is equivalent to the navy rank of vice admiral, and in air forces with a separate rank structure, it is equivalent to air marshal. Camp Lapu-Lapu
Camp Lapu-Lapu is a military installation of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in the Lahug District of Cebu City, Philippines. It is currently the headquarters of the AFP Visayas Command, although in October 2022 it was announced that the AFP Visayas Command would relocate their headquarters after the Cebu provincial government announced that they would take back the land on which the camp stands. During the Marcos dictatorship, it was designated as one of the four provincial camps to become a Regional Command for Detainees (RECAD). Jaime De Los Santos
Jaime de los Santos (born April 1946 in Nueva Ecija, Philippines) is a retired Filipino military general who led the United Nations Transitional Administration in East Timor (UNTAET) and the first Filipino officer to lead an international peacekeeping force on foreign soil. He also served as chief of staff and the commanding general of the Philippine Army.
