AFL Queensland Women's League
The Queensland Australian Football League Women's (QAFLW) is the highest-ranked Australian rules football women's league in Queensland. It provides elite women footballers the opportunity to play in a semi-professional environment. Many players from this league have represented their State, earned All-Australian honours, and participated in AFL Women's, AFLW. There are five senior women's Australian rules football leagues in Queensland governed by AFL Queensland. The second-tier of women's football in South-East Queensland is the Queensland Football Association Women's (QFAW), which was introduced in 2017. This competition is designed to allow women who are new to the game to develop their football understanding and skills, and also provide new clubs with an entry point into women's football. AFL Queensland
AFL Queensland Limited (AFLQ) is the governing body of Australian rules football in Queensland formed in 2000 and based at Leyshon Park in the Brisbane suburb of Yeronga. AFL Queensland has over 216,000 participants (including Northern Rivers which is governed by AFLQ) playing at all levels of football from the introductory NAB AFL Auskick program to the AFL Masters Competition. AFL Queensland covers 13 regions, 24 leagues and 159 clubs. Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex
Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex is a multi-purpose community sports facility located in Maroochydore, Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Overview Maroochydore Multi Sports Complex has three floodlit ovals for Australian rules football, three soccer pitches and more than 20 floodlit outdoor netball courts. The complex regularly hosts community events for these sports, and has also hosted a pre-season Australian Football League (AFL) match in 2012. Maroochydore ( ) is a coastal town in the Sunshine Coast Region, Queensland, Australia. In the , the urban area of Maroochydore had a population of 63,673 people. The city was subdivided from the Cotton Tree reserve by Surveyor Thomas O'Connor in 1903. The land was acquired from William Pettigrew who had a timber depot at what is now Wharf Street. Coorparoo ( ) is a suburb in the inner City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Coorparoo had a population of 18,132 people. Geography Coorparoo is by road south-east of the Brisbane GPO. It borders Camp Hill, Holland Park, Stones Corner, Greenslopes, East Brisbane and Norman Park. Toponymy Coorparoo was chosen as the name of the suburb at a public meeting on 22 March 1875, before which it was known as Four Mile Camp. The name Coorparoo is likely derived from an Aboriginal name for Norman Creek, probably recorded by early surveyors as ''Koolpuroom''. The word is thought to refer to either a place associated with mosquitoes, or a sound made by the 'gentle dove'. Coorparoo Football Club (1996)
The Coorparoo Football Club, nicknamed the Kings, is an Australian rules football club based in the Brisbane suburb of Coorparoo. The club was formed in 1996, one year after the original Coorparoo club folded. Coorparoo's men's team currently competes in Division 1 and Division 3 of the Queensland Football Association (QFA), and will enter the Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL) in 2025.
