AFL Coaches Association
The AFL Coaches Association (AFLCA) is the representative body for Australian Football League coaches. History The AFLCA was founded in 2002, and as of 2015 had 178 members. Every year annually since 2003, the AFLCA has released a set of awards, mainly to players and coaches in the Australian Football League. Danny Frawley is a former CEO of the Association, stepping down from the role in 2014. He was replaced by Mark Brayshaw who served from 2015 to 2021. The current CEO is Alistair Nicholson who was appointed in March 2021. Alistair Nicholson
Alistair "Big Jack" Nicholson (born 4 March 1978) is a former Australian rules footballer, who played with the Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Nicholson was schooled at Scotch College, Perth, where he was school captain in his final year of 1995. He was also co-captain of the school's hockey team. Fellow AFL footballer Rowan Jones followed Nicholson as school captain in 1996. Making his debut in 1997 in the number 44 guernsey, the large figure of the man known as "Big Jack" was a strong presence in defence for the Demons. Nicholson, a specialist key position defender, was most suited to full-back and was much maligned during his career, described by critics as "old, slow and useless" and "unfashionable". The Australian Football League (AFL) is the pre-eminent professional sports, professional competition of Australian rules football. Danny Frawley
Daniel Patrick "Spud" Frawley (8 September 1963 – 9 September 2019) was an Australian rules football player, coach, administrator, commentator and media personality. He played 240 games for the St Kilda Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL)/Australian Football League (AFL) from 1984 to 1995, captaining the club for nine seasons, and won All-Australian selection and the St Kilda best and fairest award in 1988. Frawley coached the Richmond Football Club from 2000 to 2004, with his most successful season coming in 2001, when he coached Richmond to a preliminary final. He later served as chief executive officer of the AFL Coaches Association from 2008 to 2014, and had part-time roles with the Hawthorn Football Club and St Kilda. Mark Brayshaw
Mark Andrew Brayshaw (born 5 February 1966) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the North Melbourne Football Club in the AFL. He is the brother of James Brayshaw and the son of Ian Brayshaw. His sons Angus, Andrew and Hamish have all played in the AFL. Playing career Claremont Football Club Brayshaw began and ended his career with Claremont Football Club in the West Australian Football League. In a career that began in 1984 and ended in 1994, Brayshaw played 110 games for the club and kicked 70 goals. He was drafted by North Melbourne Football Club in the 1989 VFL draft.
