AFL Canada
AFL Canada (formerly the Canadian Australian Football Association, ) is the governing body for men's and women's Australian rules football in Canada. AFL Canada was formed on 30 July 2004, when the Canadian Australian Football Association changed its official name. AFL Canada is responsible for co-ordinating three national programs - the Northwind senior men, Northern Lights senior women and the Wolfpack junior men's team. AFL Canada also oversees game development nationally and several competitions and tournaments across the country. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an Australian rules football playing field, oval field, often a modified cricket ground. 2005 Australian Football International Cup
The 2005 Australian Football International Cup was the second time that the Australian Football International Cup tournament, an international Australian rules football competition was held. The event was hosted by both Melbourne and Wangaratta, Australia, in 2005. 10 nations participated following the late withdrawal of both Nauru and Denmark and the introduction of Spain. All sides were scheduled to play 4 games, after which the top 4 sides played off in semi-finals for a berth in the Grand Final decider. The Grand Final was between Papua New Guinea and New Zealand. Australian rules football in Canada (commonly known as "Aussie Rules" or simply "footy") is played in seven Provinces and territories of Canada, provinces – Ontario, Alberta, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. The 2014 Australian Football International Cup (also known as the AFL International Cup 2014 or IC14) was the fifth edition of the Australian Football International Cup, an international Australian rules football competition run by the Australian Football League. It was contested between Saturday August 9 to Saturday August 23, with games played in Melbourne. Whitten Oval (also known as Mission Whitten Oval under a naming rights agreement) is a stadium in the inner-western suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in Barkly Street, Footscray. Trevor Barker Beach Oval, also known simply as Trevor Barker Oval and currently known under naming rights as the Wilson Storage Trevor Barker Beach Oval (WSTBBO), is an Australian rules football ground in Beach Road, on the border between Hampton and Sandringham, Victoria.
