AFC Walcountians is a football club based in Woodmansterne in Surrey, England. They are currently members of the and play at Walcountians Sports Club. History The club was formed in 1997 as Epsom Dynamos, but later became fully incorporated as part of Walcountians Sports Club and became known as AFC Walcountians in 2004. Being dedicated to youth football, the club launched its first senior side for the 2015–16 season in the Redhill & District League Division One. In 2017 the club joined the Surrey South Eastern Combination Junior Division One and won the league in the first season. Woodmansterne
Woodmansterne is a village in the borough of Reigate and Banstead, Surrey, bordering Greater London, England. It sits on a small plateau of and a southern down slope of the North Downs and its ecclesiastical parish borders continue to span old boundaries and reach into Chipstead, Coulsdon and Wallington. History The village lay within the Anglo-Saxon hundred of Wallington which served for strategic meetings of elders and manor owners in the various kingdoms, including in the two centuries before the Norman Conquest, the Kingdom of England. Woodmansterne appears in Domesday Book of 1086 as ''Odemerestor'', derived from Old English "Ode" = (W)ode = Wood, "mere" = pond, and "tor" = high ground. It was held by Richard de Tonebrige. The Surrey South Eastern Combination is one of the three intermediate association football leagues based in the English county of Surrey (the others are the Surrey Premier County Football League and the Surrey County Intermediate League (Western)). It currently comprises clubs from the east of Surrey and parts of Greater London. It was founded in 1991. The league's top division is situated at the 12th level of the English football league system, and acts as a feeder to the Surrey Elite Intermediate League. The Surrey Premier County Football League is a regional English football league for teams in south-west London, Surrey and neighbouring areas. It was founded in 2008. The league is at the 11th level of the English football league system and was incorporated into the National League System as a Step 7 league by the Football Association in June 2012. The league was formed to bridge the gap between local intermediate leagues and the lower division of the Combined Counties League. The league is fed by the Surrey County Intermediate League (Western) and the Surrey South Eastern Combination.
