AEK Kouklia
AE Kouklion () was a Cypriot football team based in Kouklia of Paphos District. It was founded on 20 October 1968 and was dissolved on 9 June 2014, in order to be merged with AEP Paphos and create a new team, Pafos FC. History AEK was started by young people from Kouklia, Paphos to get young people involved in sports and away from drugs and other harmful habits. In Paphos, there wasn't a regional league back then, so the team played friendly games with teams from other areas around Paphos. In 1971, the Football Federation of Rural Clubs of Paphos (POASP) was founded. AEK participated in the federation's competitions from 1973 to 2006, winning many championships and cups. In 2006, AEK became champions in the 1st division of POASP and subsequently secured the promotion to Cypriot 5th Division (membership championship), enabling its entry into the Cyprus Football Federation (CFA) and the Cypriot Fourth Division. Pafiako Stadium
The Stelios Kyriakides Stadium (previous Pafiako Stadium) () is a multi-use stadium in Paphos, the stadium holds 9,394 people. It has a full size running track around the outside of its football and rugby playing field and is used for many athletics events throughout the year. It is regarded as one of the best pitches in Cyprus and situated ideally for the public. Until 25 May 2017 its name was Pafiako Stadium (), but Cyprus Sport Organisation change its name to Stelios Kyriakides Stadium after marathon runner Stylianos Kyriakides, Stelios Kyriakides. It is the home stadium of Akritas Chlorakas and Pafos FC. 2009–10 Cypriot Cup For Lower Divisions
The 2009–10 Cypriot Cup for lower divisions was the 2nd edition of the Cypriot Cup for lower divisions. A total of 23 clubs entered the competition. It began on 4 November 2009 with the first round and concluded on 31 March 2010 with the final which was held at Geroskipou Municipality Stadium. Chalkanoras Idaliou, Chalkanoras won their 1st cup trophy after beating AEK Kouklia F.C., AEK Kouklia 1–0 in the final. Demetris Ioannou (), born 8 December 1968, is a former international Cypriot football defender and currently a football manager. Career He started his career in 1990 from Apollon Limassol and then followed six successful seasons in Anorthosis Famagusta. Cypriot Cup For Lower Divisions
The Cypriot Cup for lower divisions, formally known as the Cypriot Coca-Cola Cup of Third Division and STOK Elite Division for sponsorship purposes, is a domestic cup for the teams which participate in the Cyprus, Cypriot Cypriot Third Division, Third Division and the STOK Elite Division (formerly known as Cypriot Fourth Division, Fourth Division). Format It was created in the 2008–09 season by Cyprus Football Association. Participation in this cup is optional, so the number of participating clubs differs each year. The competition is a knockout tournament. The matches in the first two rounds are single-legged and the matches in quarterfinals and semifinals are two-legged. Paphos
Paphos, also spelled as Pafos, is a coastal city in southwest Cyprus and the capital of Paphos District. In classical antiquity, two locations were called Paphos: #Old Paphos, Old Paphos, today known as Kouklia, and #New Paphos, New Paphos. AEP Paphos FC
AEP Paphos (, ''Athlitiki Enosi Pafos''; "Athletic Union Paphos") was a Cypriot football club based in Paphos. The club was formed in 2000 after the merger of the two clubs of Paphos, APOP and Evagoras. AEP Paphos was dissolved on 9 June 2014, in order to be merged with AEK Kouklia and create a new team, Pafos FC. History APOP and Evagoras were the two clubs of Paphos playing sometimes in First and sometimes in the Second Division. In contrast with the other Districts of Cyprus and other major towns, which had permanent teams in First Division, Paphos did not have such a team as the two clubs could not remain in First Division for many years. For this reason the two clubs were merged to form AEP Paphos as the people of Paphos wanted a permanent team in First Division. 2013–14 Cypriot First Division
The 2013–14 Cypriot First Division was the 75th season of the Cypriot top-level football league. It began on 31 August 2013 and ended on 31 May 2014. APOEL were the defending champions. The league comprised eleven teams from the 2012–13 season and three promoted teams from the 2012–13 Second Division. The 17 May 2014 title deciding match between AEL Limassol and APOEL was abandoned (at 0–0) after 52 minutes, when a bomb thrown by AEL fans, hit and injured APOEL's player Kaká. The match was replayed behind closed doors at a neutral stadium on 31 May 2014 and APOEL achieved to win their second consecutive league title after beating AEL Limassol by 1–0. The 2012–13 Cypriot Second Division was the 58th season of the Cypriot second-level football league. It began on 15 September 2012 and ended on 11 May 2013. The defending champions were Doxa Katokopias. Aris Limassol and AEK Kouklia finished equal on points but Aris Limassol won the championship because they had a better goal difference than AEK Kouklia in the matches played between the two teams. The Cypriot First Division (), also known as the Cyprus League by Stoiximan for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Cyprus and the highest level of the Cypriot football league system. The Cypriot Second Division () is the second highest association football, football division of the Cypriot football league system. Administered by the Cyprus Football Association, it is contested by 16 teams, with the top three teams being Promotion and relegation, promoted to the Cypriot First Division and the last three teams being Promotion and relegation, relegated to the Cypriot Third Division.
