The Lexus Birmingham Open (previously sponsored by Rothesay (insurer), Rothesay) is a WTA 125 tournaments, WTA 125 women's tennis tournament on the Women's Tennis Association, WTA Tour, and an ATP Challenger Tour 125 men's tournament since 2025. It is held at the Edgbaston Priory Club in Edgbaston, Birmingham, United Kingdom. Held at this location since 1982, it is the successor event to Midland Counties Championships (1882-1977) a combined event that was also held at the same venue. The tournament is played on outdoor grass courts. It is seen as a warm up tournament for The Championships, Wimbledon, Wimbledon and a sister tournament to the Queen's Club Championships. Prior to 2014, the event was part of the WTA's WTA International tournaments, International series. Between 2014 and 2019, it was a WTA Premier tournaments, premier level tournament. WTA 250 is a category of tennis tournaments in the Women's Tennis Association tour, implemented since the reorganization of the schedule in 2021. Earlier these events were classified as WTA International Tournaments. At their introduction in 2021, WTA 250 tournaments' prize money was approximately $250,000. As of 2025 season, this has risen to $275,094. The ranking points awarded to the winners of these tournaments are 250.
