ADC Aircraft
The Aircraft Disposal Company (ADC) or Airdisco, was a British firm established in March 1920 to take advantage of the large number of World War I-surplus military aircraft on the market.Gunston 2005, p.7. The company changed name in 1925 to ADC Aircraft Limited. History In 1920 the British government, through the Disposal and Liquidation Commission of the Ministry of Munitions, sold the entire stock of surplus aircraft, aero-engines and related equipment held in the United Kingdom to the Imperial and Foreign Corporation Limited. Remote Data Services (RDS, formerly known as Advanced Data Connector or ADC) is an older technology that is part of Microsoft SQL Server, and used in conjunction with ActiveX Data Objects (ADO). RDS allowed the retrieval of a set of data from a database server, which the client then altered in some way and then sent back to the server for further processing. With the popular adoption of Transact-SQL, which extends the SQL programming with constructs such as loops and conditional statements, RDS became less necessary and it was eventually deprecated in Microsoft Data Access Components version 2.7. Azodicarbonamide, ADCA, ADA, or azo(''bis'')formamide, is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C2H4O2N4. It is a yellow to orange-red, odorless, crystalline powder. Antibody-drug conjugates or ADCs are a class of biopharmaceutical drugs designed as a targeted therapy for treating cancer. Unlike chemotherapy, ADCs are intended to target and kill tumor cells while sparing healthy cells. As of 2019, some 56 pharmaceutical companies were developing ADCs. Poly(allyl diglycol carbonate) (PADC) is a plastic commonly used in the manufacture of eyeglass lenses alongside the material PMMA ( polymethyl methacrylate). The monomer is allyl diglycol carbonate (ADC). The term CR-39 technically refers to the ADC monomer, but is more commonly used to refer to the finished plastic. The abbreviation stands for "Columbia Resin #39", which was the 39th formula of a thermosetting plastic developed by the Columbia Resins project in 1940.
