The A585 is a primary road in England which runs from Kirkham to Fleetwood in Lancashire. The road runs a total distance of just under , on a mixture of rural and urban residential/commercial streets. The section north of the M55 formerly carried large amounts of container traffic to and from the Fleetwood container port, until operations ceased in 2010. Route The road begins at Kirkham, as a turning off the A583, the Kirkham by-pass It travels north for , firstly as the Kirkham & Wesham By-Pass, then as Fleetwood Road, through Kirkham and Wesham, until it meets Junction 3 of the M55 at Wesham Circle. The road continues as Fleetwood Road in a roughly northerly direction for a further , through Esprick and Greenhalgh. Norcross Roundabout
Norcross Roundabout is a major traffic roundabout in the English village of Thornton, Lancashire. It was built at the junction of the A585, the B5268 Fleetwood Road South and Norcross Lane. As of 2020, an average of 28,000 vehicles utilise the roundabout each day. The roundabout separates Thornton, to the north and northeast, from an area known as Norcross, beyond the roundabout to the southwest, and from Carleton to the south and southeast. It is part of a section of the A585 called Amounderness Way. It is one of five roundabouts on Amounderness Way, the others being (from the southeast to the northwest): the Victoria Road Roundabout, between Thornton and Cleveleys; and three in Fleetwood, shortly before the road's northern terminus. Fleetwood
Fleetwood is a coastal town in the Borough of Wyre in Lancashire, England, at the northwest corner of the Fylde. It had a population of 25,939 at the 2011 United Kingdom census, 2011 census. Fleetwood acquired its modern character in the 1830s, when the principal landowner Peter Hesketh-Fleetwood, High Sheriff and MP, conceived an ambitious plan to re-develop the town to make it a busy seaport and railway spur. He commissioned the Victorian architect Decimus Burton to design a number of substantial civic buildings, including two lighthouses. Hesketh-Fleetwood's transport terminus schemes failed to materialise. The town expanded greatly in the first half of the 20th century with the growth of the fishing industry, and passenger ferries to the Isle of Man, to become a Fishing trawler, deep-sea fishing port. The A588 is a road in western Lancashire, England, which runs for around , from Poulton-le-Fylde northeastwards to Lancaster. It is the main route serving the Over Wyre areas of the Fylde. Route The road begins at a junction with the A586 Garstang Road in Poulton-le-Fylde and runs north, through Queen's Square, as Hardhorn Road, before becoming Breck Road. It meets the A585 eastbound at the River Wyre roundabout. After running concurrently with the A585 as Mains Lane for , it turns north (left) away from the A585, crossing the River Wyre at Shard Bridge, the last crossing of the river before its estuary. Breck Road
Breck Road (formerly Breck Street; colloquially known as The Breck) is a road in Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, England. Originally known as Breck Street, it runs for about from Chapel Street, Ball Street and Vicarage Road in the south to Amounderness Way (the A585) in the north. The road is one-way northbound between its Chapel Street/Ball Street/Vicarage Road junction and Victoria Road, just beyond Poulton-le-Fylde railway station. It is part of the A588, a designation it picks up from Chapel Street. Amounderness Way eastbound inherits the A588 designation. A583 Road
The A583 is a primary road from Preston to Blackpool in England, via Kirkham. It runs a distance of 17 miles (27.4 km), and was previously the main route into Blackpool until the construction of the M55 motorway. Route The A583 runs from the A59 Ring Way in Preston city centre to Blackpool town centre, terminating near the town's North Pier. It is mostly a primary route, although there are non-primary sections in the urban areas at both ends of the route. The road begins as Friargate and heads out of the city centre as Fylde Road, becoming Watery Lane after passing under the Blackpool Branch Lines to meet the A5072. As Watery Lane, it becomes a dual carriageway and acts as a bypass for the Riversway Docklands and the Ashton-on-Ribble area. The A587 is a road in England that runs from Blackpool to Fleetwood in Lancashire. The road runs a total distance of approximately , largely on residential and commercial streets. It begins close to the Oxford Square junction in Marton, in the south-eastern part of Blackpool as a turning off the A583, Preston New Road. It continues north, as South Park Drive and later East Park Drive, past Stanley Park and Blackpool Victoria Hospital for about , until the Four Lane Ends roundabout.
