Alfred Robert Louis Dohme (February 15, 1867-1952) was a prominent druggist in the United States. He was a patron of the arts and a civic leader. He founded the Baltimore Museum of Art The Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA) in Baltimore, Maryland, is an art museum that was founded in 1914. The BMA's collection of 95,000 objects encompasses more than 1,000 works by Henri Matisse anchored by the Cone Collection of modern art, .... He established a laboratory for the assay of medicinal drugs. He supported home rule and a city charter for Baltimore. His grandfather was from Germany and was in the brownstone business. He settled in Baltimore with his family. A.R.L. attended Friends School in Baltimore and graduated from Johns Hopkins University where he became a lecturer. History The neighborhood of Roland Park in Baltimore, Maryland, was established in 1891 by the Roland Park Company.
