A. K. M. Mohiuddin Ahmed
A.K.M. Mohiuddin Ahmed (25 February 1949 – 28 January 2010) was a Bangladesh Army officer who was convicted in absentia and executed for the assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. On 28 January 2010, Ahmed was hanged along with Syed Faruque Rahman, Sultan Shahriar Rashid Khan, Mohiuddin Ahmed, and Mohammad Bazlul Huda in Old Dhaka Central Jail. Early life and education Ahmed was born in Bogra, East Bengal, Pakistan (now Rajshahi Division, Bangladesh). He enlisted to Pakistan Military Academy in 1967 and was commissioned at East Bengal Regiment on 1969. He was soon promoted to lieutenant in January 1971 and was transferred as patrol officer for the bravo company under the 2nd East Bengal Regiment. His unit was transferred from Lahore Cantonment to outskirts of the Mirpur Cantonment around February 1971. Bogra District, officially Bogura District (), is a district in the northern part of Bangladesh, in Rajshahi Division. Bogra is an industrial city where many small and mid-sized companies are sited. Mohammad Bazlul Huda
Mohammad Bazlul Huda (died 28 January 2010) was a Bangladeshi Army officer and freedom fighter who was convicted of the assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, founding president of Bangladesh. On 28 January 2010, Bazlul was executed along with Syed Faruque Rahman, Sultan Shahriar Rashid Khan, Mohiuddin Ahmed, and A.K.M. Mohiuddin Ahmed in Old Dhaka Central Jail. Career In 1973, Captain Huda was posted to 1st Field Artillery Regiment in Comilla Cantonment along with Major Shariful Haque Dalim. Dalim had gotten into a scuffle with the sons of Awami League leader Gazi Golam Mostafa. Later some officers and soldiers attacked the residence of Mostofa. The officers, including Major Dalim, lost their commissions in Bangladesh Army because of indiscipline shortly after. Huda met with other conspirators to finalize the plans on 14 August 1975. Khandaker Moshtaque Ahmed
Khondaker Mostaq Ahmad (; 27 February 1919 – 5 March 1996) was a Bangladeshi politician. He was the Minister of Commerce in the third Mujib Rahman ministry under Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and assumed the presidency of Bangladesh after the Assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on 15 August 1975. He praised the assassins as "sons of the sun" and put cabinet ministers loyal to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in jail. Moinul Hossain Chowdhury, Bir Bikrom (12 November 1943 – 10 October 2010) was a Bangladesh Army officer who served as the adjutant general of Bangladesh army and an advisor of the caretaker government. Operation Searchlight was a military operation carried out by the Pakistan Army in an effort to curb the Bengali nationalist movement in former East Pakistan in March 1971.
