Gilbert Bani (born 1 August 1986), known by his stage name A-Q, is a Nigerian rapper and songwriter. His single "Agu Ji Ndi Men" was nominated for Best Rap Single at The Headies 2016. Early life Born into a family of six as the last child, A-Q, whose real name is Gilbert Bani, was raised in Surulere where he has lived for most of his life. Education A-Q attended Kings College Lagos, and had his tertiary education at the University of Lagos. At a young age he started collecting hip-hop tracks, learning the lyrics and miming them. It didn't take long before he started writing his own lyrics. Music career A-Q signed his first record deal in 2001 with Big Leaf Records where he was for two years before he started working on his own in 2003. His first single "(W)rap Nigeria", produced by kraftmatics, debuted in 2004 followed by a music video. Brymo
Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ (born Olawale Ibrahim Ashimi; 9 May 1986), better known as Brymo, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, sound artist, sonic artist, actor and author who was born and raised in Okokomaiko. Brymo started recording music in 1999 while in secondary school, and released his debut studio album ''Brymstone'' in 2007. He signed a recording contract with music label Chocolate City (music label), Chocolate City in 2010 but was accused of breaching his contract in 2013. Brymo's second studio album ''The Son of a Kapenta'' was released in 2012, and was supported by the singles "Ara", "Good Morning" and "Go Hard". The Headies 2016
The Headies 2016 was the 11th edition of The Headies. It was held on 22 December 2016 at the Eko Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos. Themed "Think, Create, Recreate." The event was hosted by Adesua Etomi and Falz. The nominees were announced by the award's organizers in November 2016. Tekno was nominated for the Next Rated award, but ended up being disqualified due to his refusal to honour the category and support the campaign. Jazzman Olofin and Adewale Ayuba jointly performed the song "Raise the Roof". Aramide performed her song "Funmi Lowo" with assistance from Ras Kimono. The ceremony also featured additional performances from Falz, 2Baba, Seyi Shay and Flavour. Olamide received eight nominations and won a total of four, including Best Rap Single for his single "Eyan Mayweather". Mr Eazi won the Next Rated category and was awarded a SUV at a later date. The Headies 2020
The Headies 2020 was the 14th edition of The Headies, a Nigerian music awards show held to recognize outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry. The ceremony took place on February 21, 2021, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic instead of December 2020, the usual month for the awards. It was held at the La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort in Ibeju-Lekki The organizers of the event announced TV personality and actress Nancy Isime and comedian Bovi as hosts, this made it the fourth time Bovi will host the event, while Nancy became the first female to host the event for the second time. The nominees were announced on 4 December 2020 with Fireboy DML leading with nine nominations. Davido and Wurld followed with seven nominations each, while Burna boy the reigning Artiste of the Year secured six nominations. Abia is a state in the Southeastern region of Nigeria. The state's capital is Umuahia and its most populous city is Aba.
