9th Auxiliary Squadron
The 9th Auxiliary Squadron, also referred to in the new media, media as the 9th Auxiliary and Mine Warfare Squadron, is one of the six Squadron (naval), squadrons of the Pakistan Navy and serves as one of the two units responsible for auxiliary fleet operations. It is the largest squadron under the Surface Fleet, officially referred to as the Surface Warriors, based on the number of ships. The squadron is primarily designed to provide military logistics, logistical support and operational assistance to warships. It consists of nine ships, including two Tanker (ship), fleet tankers, two Oil tanker, coastal tankers, two small utility ships, and three minehunters. The Pakistan Navy (PN) (; ''romanized'': Pākistān Bahrí'a; ) is the naval warfare branch of the Pakistan Armed Forces. Demining
Demining or mine clearance is the process of removing land mines from an area. In military operations, the object is to rapidly clear a path through a minefield, and this is often done with devices such as mine plows and blast waves. PNS ''Muhafiz'' was an ''Adjutant''-class minesweeper of the Pakistan Navy. It was built by the United States for transfer to Pakistan. PNS ''Muhafiz'' was sunk by a missile from of the Indian Navy during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. Éridan Class Minehunter
The Tripartite class is a class of minehunters developed from an agreement between the navies of Belgium, France and the Netherlands. A total of 35 ships were constructed for the three navies.
