''7752'' is the third album by Italian jazz vocalist Chiara Civello. The title gives the distance in kilometers from New York City to Rio de Janeiro, the two cities that inspired the album. Background While visiting her friend, Daniel Jobim, in Rio in February 2008, Civello was taken to a party where artists and musicians of all kinds get together. The guitar went around and everyone sang a song. As Civello shared, listened and learned, a new phase of her artistic path began. Ana Carolina, a Brazilian MPB star, is one of the main collaborators of ''7752''. Not only did she co-write five of the songs with Civello, but she also played acoustic guitar on most of them. Written between Rio, New York, and Rome, ''7752'' includes ten musical moments of which eight were recorded in New York City (and produced by the eclectic producer Andres Levin), while four were recorded in Rio and produced by Civello. Chiara Civello
Chiara Civello (born 15 June 1975) is an Italian singer, songwriter, pianist, and guitarist. Career When Civello was seventeen, she sang in a band with Mario Raja, then Roberto Gatto. On a scholarship, she moved to Boston in 1994 to attend the Berklee College of Music. After graduating, she moved to New York City and met Russ Titelman, who produced her first album. The album was influenced by Brazilian music, with vocals by Daniel Jobim, the grandson of Antonio Carlos Jobim, and cover versions of "Outono" by Rosa Passos and "Caramel" by Suzanne Vega. Civello wrote one song, "Trouble", with Burt Bacharach. She was accompanied by Steve Gadd, Larry Goldings, Jamey Haddad, Mike Mainieri, Rob Mounsey, Adam Rogers, and Ben Street. Raymond "Ray" Angry (b. July 4, 1972) is an American keyboardist, record producer, and composer known for his work across soul, R&B, pop, and jazz. Angry also uses the alias "Mister Goldfinger". Bernardo Bessler (born 24 May 1954) is a Brazilian violinist, conductor, teacher, and producer. Bessler was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is among the leading musicians of his country. Solo career In 1992 Leonhart was honored with the first Grammy Award for outstanding high school musician in the US (he attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School). Anat Cohen (; ; born 1975) is a New York City-based jazz clarinetist, saxophonist, and bandleader from Tel Aviv, Israel. Biography Cohen was born into a musical family and began playing the clarinet at age 12 with Jaffa Conservatory’s Dixieland band. When she was 16, she started playing tenor saxophone with the conservatory’s big band. She attended the Yellin School in 1991 and majored in jazz. She served in the Israeli military from 1993 to 1995 and studied at Berklee College of Music from 1996 to 1999. She then moved to New York and toured with the Diva Jazz Orchestra for a decade while also working with Brazilian groups such as the Choro Ensemble and Duduka Da Fonseca’s Samba Jazz Quintet.
