Low-alloy Special Purpose Steel
Low-alloy special purpose steel is a grade of tool steel characterized by its proportion of iron to other elements, the kind of elements in its composition, and its treatment during the manufacturing process. The three ASTM established grades of low-alloy special purpose steel are L2, L3, and L6. This grade originally contained L1, L4, L5 and L7 as well as three F grades (F1, F2, and F3) but because of falling demand only grades L2 and L6 remain in production. L2 L2 grade steel comes in medium-carbon (0.45%-0.65%) and high-carbon (0.65%-1.1%) formats. L6 L6 is the most commonly encountered and most frequently made variety of these steels. It is known for its high wear resistance and its toughness. Applications Applications for the L-series of tool steels have included precision gauges, bearings, rollers, cold-heading dies, swaging dies, feed fingers, spindles, jigs, shears, punches, and drills. They are also used for machining arbors, cams, chucks, and collets. References< ...

Gibson L6-S
The Gibson L6-S is a solid body electric guitar. It was the descendant of the L5S jazz solid-body electric guitar. It was the same shape, very much like a wide Gibson Les Paul, but with a 24-fret neck, the first Gibson guitar to have this. Model history The L6-S was the first cooperation between Bill Lawrence and Gibson. It was designed in 1972 and first released in 1973. The idea was to make a "multi-sound system" under a very tight budget. The popularity of the L6-S gradually dropped after 1974, despite high-profile endorsements from the likes of Al Di Meola and Carlos Santana. Pat Martino, John McLaughlin, Keith Richards, Tom Johnston, Paul Stanley, Mike Oldfield, Dave Davies, Brad Delp, Rich Williams, Bob Mothersbaugh, Bob Casale, Martha Davis of The Motels, Allison Robertson, Angus Young and Prince also used the model during this period. All models were dropped from price lists in 1979. The L6-S Custom remained in the catalog in 1980 and was still being made in the ...

Interstate Cadet
The Interstate Cadet is an American two-seat tandem, high wing, single-engine monoplane light aircraft. Around 320 of these aircraft were produced between the years 1941 and 1942 by the Interstate Aircraft and Engineering Corporation based in El Segundo, California. The construction techniques employed were a welded steel tube fuselage, wood (spruce) wing structure with metal ribs, and fabric covering, all of which were fairly standard in the 1940s. An Interstate Cadet, flown by aviator Cornelia Fort and her student Mr. Suomala, was one of the first aircraft (if not the first) to be attacked by IJNAS Japanese naval planes en route to the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941. Design and development The original version, the S-1 prototype, was powered by the 50 hp Continental A50 engine, but was soon upgraded to the Continental A65 engine and redesignated as the S-1A-65F. This was a common engine used in many small American two-seat aircraft of the time. This aircraft would ...

PRR L6
The Pennsylvania Railroad's class L6 comprised three electric locomotives of 2-8-2 wheel arrangement in the Whyte notation. The intention was to build a whole class of freight boxcab locomotives using this design, but the displacement of class P5a to freight work after the introduction of the GG1 meant that there was little need for more electric freight locomotives. Two L6 class locomotives were built at Altoona Works as prototypes in 1932. Numbered 7825–7826, they were renumbered 5938–5939 in 1933. Sixty production L6a locomotives were planned, with the car bodies of thirty subcontracted to Lima Locomotive Works (order number 1128, construction numbers 7587–7616). One was completed as PRR 5940, while the other 29 car bodies remained in store at Altoona until scrapped in 1942 for the war War is an armed conflict between the armed forces of states, or between governmental forces and armed groups that are organized under a certain command structure and have the c ...

It was announced at the 3GSM fair on February 14, 2005 originally under the name SLVR V8. Inspired by the Motorola Razr V3, the Slvr shares the same flat keypad and was designed to be thin and compact: it was just thick which was considered very thin at the time. Two main updated versions were also made: the Slvr L7e announced in October 2006 adds EDGE data, upgrades the camera to 1.3-megapixels, and upgrades Bluetooth capabilities. This was followed by a successor Slvr L9 (known as Slvr L72 in Asia) announced in February 2007 with a redesigned plastic keypad, upgrading the camera to 2.0-megapixels and adding an FM radio. In addition, Motorola also released two cheaper handsets without the SLVR designation: the Motorola L6 has a downgraded 65k color display with lower resolution, lacks the microSD slot present on the Slvr L7, and has a differen ...
