75th Independence Day Commemoration Medal
The 75th Independence Day Commemoration Medal was a commemorative medal awarded to the servicepersons of all actively serving ranks (including those undergoing basic training) on 1 February 2023 in both the regular and volunteer forces in the Sri Lanka Armed Forces and officers of the National Cadet Corps to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Sri Lanka's Independence from the United Kingdom, on the 4 February 2023. A formal recommendation from service commanders was required for the award of the medal. The Sri Lanka Armed Forces is the overall unified military of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka encompassing the Sri Lanka Army, the Sri Lanka Navy, and the Sri Lanka Air Force; they are governed by the Ministry of Defence (Sri Lanka), Ministry of Defence (MoD). National Cadet Corps (Sri Lanka)
The National Cadet Corps (NCC; Sinhala: ජාතික ශිෂ්යභට බලකාය, ''romanized: jātika śiṣyabhaṭa balakāya'') is a volunteer youth organisation in Sri Lanka, sponsored by the Ministry of Defence (Sri Lanka), Ministry of Defence, which operates in schools. Its activities (Cadet and Cadet Band) are open for secondary school students on voluntary basis and its officers are government teachers and educational administrators, who serve as instructors. The National Cadet Corps presently consists of 9 Provincial Headquarters, 2 Training Centres, and 30 Battalions deployed island wide. Approximately, 100,000 school cadets organized in to 4492 cadet platoons, including 279 cadet band platoons, are registered and trained by the NCC. Ceylon Armed Services Long Service Medal
The Ceylon Armed Services Long Service Medal ( Sinhala: සන්නද්ධ සේවා දීර්ඝ සේවා පදක්කම ''ārakśaka sēvā dhīrgha sēvā padakkama'') was a service medal of Ceylon from 1968 to 1972.
