The 73rd Naval Special Operations Center "Antin Holovaty, Chieftain Antin Holovaty" or the Special Operations Center South (А3199) is the naval spetsnaz component of the Special Operations Forces (Ukraine), Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO) that specialized in amphibious reconnaissance to prepare for amphibious warfare operations, clandestine operation, defense against swimmer incursions, direct action against important strategic or tactical goals, irregular warfare, maritime counterterrorism and hostage rescue, naval special warfare, and underwater demolition. It joined the Ukrainian Navy on 1992 and became a part of SSO in 2016, becoming the sole Ukrainian Navy component of SSO. It is headquartered at Ochakiv. Special Operations Forces (Ukraine)
The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (, abbreviated ) are the special forces of Ukraine and one of the eight Military branch, branches of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with headquarters in Kyiv. The SSO has the roles including various special forces-related duties such as direct action, special reconnaissance, intelligence gathering, sabotage and psychological warfare. They are not the only Special forces of Ukraine, special forces units in Ukraine. The SSO was created in 2016, after various reforms of the Ukrainian Armed Forces due to failures in the war in Donbas.
