6UNDERGROUND Live & Raw (also known as 6UG) is a music venue in the Philippines established in 2004. Since 2006, the bar is located in the Ortigas Center on the premises of a rock bar called Kalye, which was active in the 1990s.Seen, P: "No longer seen in the dark", page 12, Pulp Magazine, March 2009 Cultural significance 6UG allows for appearance of mostly unknown bands. 6UG was where Rivermaya made their live television special, "Live @ 6Underground", aired over Studio 23; one of the uncommon times that the old quartet with Rico Blanco performed their set in a relatively small venue. It was also one of the few bars where Bamboo (band), a rival of Rivermaya, performed. When foreign acts such as Love Me Butch and Interlace came to Manila, their very first stops were also at 6underground. Kapatid (band)
Kapatid was a Filipino rock supergroup fronted by Karl Roy, the brother of Kevin Roy of Razorback. He was also the vocalist of bands Advent Call and P.O.T. The band was originally composed of Nathan Azarcon (of Rivermaya, Bamboo and Hijo) on bass, J-Hoon Balbuena (of Kjwan) on drums, Ira Cruz (of Passage, Bamboo and Hijo) on rhythm guitar and the late Chico Molina on lead guitar. The band was managed by Pam Lunar. They went on to release their first self-titled LP with hit songs "Prayer", "Pagbabalik ng Kwago", and "Visions" among others, in 2003. Lokomotiv was a Southern California-based rock band that counted among its lineup key members of two of the most successful hard rock bands in the Philippines during the 1990s— Wolfgang and Razorback. The Itchyworms is a Filipino rock band. Imago is a Filipino rock band composed of Kharren "Kurei" Granada (vocals), Myrene "Maps" Academia (bass), Tim Cacho (guitar), and Mervin Panganiban (drums). Hale (band)
Hale is a Filipino alternative rock band, formed in Manila, Philippines in 2004. The group originally consisted of singer and guitarist Champ Lui Pio, bassist Sheldon Gellada, guitarist Roll Martinez and drummer Omnie Saroca. Greyhoundz is a Filipino nu metal band based in Manila, Philippines. Formed in the late 1990s, they gained international recognition for their alternative metal/rap metal sound. Background Greyhoundz was formed in 1997 by cousins Niño and Audie Avenido who at first just wanted to join a local battle of the bands contest together with other bandmates that included Allen Cudal.
