The 6th Hum Awards by Hum Network Limited, honored the best in fashion, music, and Hum Television Dramas of 2017. It took place on July 28, 2018, at the FirstOntario Centre in Bay Street, Hamilton, Ontario at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time Zone. Hum Awards were given in 25 categories. FirstOntario Centre (originally Copps Coliseum) is a sports and entertainment arena at the corner of Bay Street (Hamilton, Ontario), Bay Street North and York Boulevard in Hamilton, Ontario, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Kashif Nisar ( ur, ) is a Pakistani television director, producer and screenwriter, and the nephew of Pakistani TV Director Tariq Mairaj. He is known for directing artistic drama serials. Kashif's most notable works are '' Dumpukht - Aatish-e-Ishq'', '' O Rungreza'', ''Ranjha Ranjha Kardi'', and '' Inkaar'' for which he was nominated for several Lux Style Awards and a Hum Award. The Hum Award for Best Director Drama Serial is one of the Awards of Merit presented by the Hum Television Network and Entertainment Channel (HTNEC) to directors working in the drama industry. While nominations for Best drama Director are made by members in the Hum's Directing branch, the award winners are selected by the Hum membership as a whole. ''O Rangreza'' ( ur, ), is a Pakistani romantic drama serial that aired on Hum TV. It starred Bilal Abbas and Sajal Ali in lead roles. It was written by Saji Gul and was directed by Kashif Nisar, who previously directed ''Dumpukht'', which also starred Bilal Abbas Khan along with Sonia Mishal and Noman Ijaz. ''Sammi''(in Punjabi سمی ) is a Pakistani television drama serial about social causes that airs on Hum TV from 28 January 2017. It is written by Noor ul Huda Shah and directed by Saife Hassan. Set in rural Rahim Yar Khan, the series centers social issues on the rural society revolving around the concept of '' Vanni'' and shows moral lessons against common issues such as gender discrimination.
